I have stayed at the Pumpkin Hollow B&B several times and always feel welcomed into a relaxed, and intriguing (filled with interesting books and antiques) atmosphere. The breakfasts are a foodie’s delight--Diane is an excellent cook and takes pleasure in feeding her guests well. Conversation around the table and fire is always lively and rambling—the best kind. I appreciate eclectic... More

This small B&B is a great option if you are visiting one of the many nearby colleges or if you'd just like a real New England countryside experience. We very much enjoyed our three nights' stay last weekend for graduation/alumnae reunion weekend at Smith College. Our room was comfortable, the breakfasts were amazing, our host charming. If you're lucky, Diane... More

This beautiful Victorian house is comfortable and the hostess Diane makes you feel right at home. My bed, in the smaller room, was very comfortable and sleeping was a blessing as the house is located in one of the quietest places on earth, I am sure. Diane is an excellent cook and the breakfast she served me was not only... More

Perhaps we were a special case. A fresh New-England white house. A side-porch with an honorable stack of cordwood and a red painted door. We rang the bell, didn't wait, opened it and entered into the powerful warmth of a cheerful sitting-room with the roaring woodstove. We felt like we'd always been there. At once so intimate and familiar. Our... More

I found this charming inn when I was desperately searching for place to stay during the Smith College parents weekend in October. If you've ever tried, you know all the local hotels get booked up or start charging exhorbitant rates whenever one of the 5 local colleges have an event. The Inn in Pumpkin Hollow was about half the cost... More

The House in Pumpkin Hollow is a great place to stay. Diane, the owner is a gracious host and gregarious without being intrusive or overbearing and makes everyone feel welcome. Our stay was more akin to staying with a friend than staying in a B&B. The house is wonderfully decorated (there's a great, eclectic collection of books all over the... More

The House in Pumpkin Hollow, its hostess and canine residents are awesome. We stayed three nights. Our every request was accommodated immediately. Diane was very personable and the overall atmosphere is very relaxed. We've been to many B&B's and would rank The House in Pumpkin Hollow towards the very top of that list. If we're in the area again, we're... More

I had such high hopes for this little spot. It is just a short walk from the location of the retreat I was attending; I would have a private bath; bucolic setting; etc etc. However my hopes were just that...not to come to fruition. Turned out the "suite with private bath" was normally the owners digs...and not up to the... More

Where to begin. I will say this for the reviewer, it was a quite thorough, if highly misleading critique. First, she claims that her room with bath, being my personal space in winter, was not up to the quality of the rest of the house. Dear readers, I want to assure you that I do treat my self as well... The House in Pumpkin Hollow is a lovely place to stay. Diane made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We were travelling with our little son (17 months) from Australia and Diane was happy to accomodate our little boy and arranged a cot for us. There was plenty of space outside to stretch our legs and a lovely common across... More

The House at Pumpkin Hollow was a wonderful little surprise....beautifully restored in an incredibly bucolic setting. We immediately felt comfortable and Diane was a wonderful hostess- laid-back, warm, and genuine. The breakfasts she cooked were unusual and sumptuous- french toast, baked apples, polenta with plum sauce. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Our fellow guests were also friendly and we enjoyed some...
