We were very disappointed in the hotel. Our room was on the 4th floor and no elevator. We used the handicapped lift to get to the 2nd floor with luggage and my husband was stuck on the lift between floors. The staff acted as if it was my husband's fault that the elevator stopped working. They never apologized. Also, a... more

We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip to Martha's Vineyard. We usually stay at the Kelly House or the Harbor View Hotel but due to availability and positive reviews chose the Colonial Inn. We arrived very early and was greeted by a smiling face and very pleasant scottish accent of the receptionist on duty by the name of... more

It was expensive so not a great value for what was generally a basic low-end hotel. Front desk service was ok but not great but having a bellmen was appreciated. Not an "Inn" in the b&b framework. More of a basic hotel. Ask for AARP AAA disc when booking. more

As a travel consultant who usually heads south to the tropics, this was a new venture for us. We were looking for something different and decided on Martha's Vineyard for Memorial Day Weekend. What a great choice! After my usual research on hotels and locations, we chose Colonial Inn. We found it to be the perfect location for us. There... more

My girlfriend and I have been to the Vineyard several times, but always during the summer, and while the island is gorgeous, the crowds make you nuts. Last weekend, with the forecast of a beautiful Spring weekend, we decided to try the off season, or "shoulder season" as we were told it was called. Well, we searched the web, and... more

In addition to their regular rooms, The Colonial Inn also rents the small suites in their Residence Club property adjacent to the hotel, they are offered by the night in advance of their eventual sale on a time-share basis. Although they seem large on the website photos, they are actually quite small, with the one-bedroom suites at about 500 sq.ft.... more

After reading many of the reviews for this inn, I was a bit concerned. It got very mixed reviews. My mother and I stayed there for a weekend in October and it was good. It wasn't the best place that I've ever stayed, but it was good. The room was small and the bed was really tall. The bed was... more

We stayed at the Colonial Inn in July 2008, as part of our 20th Anniversary celebration. It was very nice for a romatic getaway. We stayed in a room on the 4th Floor at the top of the stairs in the corner. I am convinced it was room with THE nicest view in the hotel. The room had a large... more

My husband and I stayed at the Colonial Inn for 3 nights in July, from July 12th through July 15th. The pictures of the Inn online were beautiful, and we eagerly awaited our arrival. We took the Inn's advice and took a taxi from Oak Bluffs to the Inn. This was about $30 for two people and there was no... more

We just returned from 2 nights at the Colonial Inn. We stayed there about 10 years ago. We paid approx $425 per night , plus tax, for a room overlooking the harbor. There are buildings in between. The location is what you pay for. The room is small. The bed in our room was so high up that the inn... more
