We had heard good things about Inn Magnolia, but they didn't prepare us for how great it was. Located within easy access of Gloucester center, yet as peacefully hidden away as you could desire, the Inn featured wonderful art, charming surroundings and a choice of vintage inn or retro '60s, depending on the half you decided to stay in. We... more

My husband and I enjoy staying at B & B's in New England..often staying in Newport and the Cape..Cape Cod that is.. We decided to go to the other Cape...Cape Ann..we found this gem on the Internet..I called the Inn to see about availability, amenities, walking trails etc...I had the most pleasant conversation with Amanda...She was really helpful not only... more

I have stayed at a few Inns/B&Bs and I would have to say the current innkeeper could use a course in customer service. It seemed that she was doing us a favor, letting us stay there, and she definitely lacked the charming graciousness I am accustomed to when staying at these types of places. The room we had in the... more

I'm sorry to hear that these guests were disappointed and I don't wish to dispute their experience, especially not in regard to their opinion of me personally... I would like to address the question of mold however, simply to say that there *was* a water leak between the ceiling of two of the rooms and the floors of the rooms...

I was just there for a party for the day and got the tour. The rooms are lovely and have such New England hominess and detail. Just a bit off the beaten path in a quaint part of Gloucester called Magnolia. Good for biking or if you bring your Kayal I went the the reservation Ocean Lawn for a nice... more

I can't believe that the previous owner closed up the house to guests for years - it has so much charm and loveliness, it's a shame to waste it. The new owner, Amanda, was great to open up the main house again, complete with all the beautiful period furniture, and decor. It is very large, open and airy, bright and... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Inn Magnolia a few months ago. We were both taken aback by how beautiful and spacious the place is. Every room is gorgeous without being ostentatious, and our room was huge, full of light and very comfortable. Amanda took great care of us, staying up late to make sure we were okay and had... more

It's great to see an inn with both period charm (the main 1890s house) and contemporary touches (the motel wing). We were much more interested in the former, and so had a great stay on a king size bed in a well-maintained classic New England inn room. We came at a good time too, because the previous owner had stopped... more

Stayed at the Inn Magnolia on its first week with a new owner. The inn is divided into two parts, one a more modern 60's era hotel with double bedded rooms and private baths and the other an 1890's mansion loaded with period details, secret closets, magnificent antique furnishings and china. The friendly innkeeper gave us our pick of either... more

The owner, was an incredibly helpful and fun straight-shooter. I guess she just took over the place. It used to be called the White House Inn. Our room was really large and much quieter than other places I've stayed in the area. We were staying with a toddler, and she was well tolerated there, though we really had to watch... more

Stayed at the White House Inn -- now Inn Magnolia -- in Magnolia, a charming area of Gloucester, MA for a little R&R. We stayed two nights in the original building... if you're an architecture buff, I highly recommend it. The place was built in 1880, and features high ceiling, a lovely winding staircase, and the most beautiful and ornate... more
