Super 8 Review – Holyoke, MA 7/24/2008 Rm 53 I had previously used the Super8 in W. Springfield, but this time it was filled. Holyoke was not that much further north - but miles away in terms of basic standards. It was after 10 PM when I arrived for my prepaid reservation, and too late to find another motel. The... more

Yuck. At least the desk clerk spoke English. This motel is situated on a steep hill. Many of the rooms are located over a restaurant. The door to the hallway of our wing didn't lock and the glass was broken. There were people hanging around. If I had paid $30, I wouldn't have been so creeped out, but I paid... more

I was enticed by the location and rates. The reality was much different than my expectations. The neighborhood is evidently a haven for mischief, people loitering outside, the hallways and the room smelled badly...offensively, their was mold in bathrooms,a few bugs etc. I had to cancel my two remaining nights after enduring just one night at this excuse for a motel. They... more

Like other reviewers, they tried to "bait and switch" me. My choice was to accept a smoking room or pay $22 more for a non-smoking double. I had booked a single room. When I said no to both, the owner told me he would charge my credit card anyway. I've heard of this type of crap, but in my last... more

We stayed here last week and found it, well, ... worth what we paid. We used a coupon - seems room availability depends on how you impress the clerk. Even though a desk sign said no coupon rooms available, we were cheerfully told ours was the last available non-smoking room, at advertised price. The outside was shabby and the hallway... more

This was one of the most horrible experiences we've ever had in a hotel. We used a roomsaver coupon and were told that if we wanted a non-smoking room that we would have to pay extra. (The coupon didn't state it was for smoking rooms only). The room was in bad repair. It was dark, and smelled horrible. If my... more

I went there last week with my parents, we wanted to stay one night (Fri/Sat). We needed two rooms and had two coupons that promised to offer a discount on the rooms. After seeing the rooms, we tried to check in and presented the girl at the front desk with the two coupons. She said she could use just one.... more

Advertised Senior AARP rates on the web were $54.99 for 1 person for the weekend I was there. When I arrived, I was quoted a $79.99 minimum rate for a Senior AARP room (1 person - 2 beds?). When I returned home, I verified the rates were the same (for the next weekend.) The room I had occuied was advertised... more

Although the location is pretty good, I just can't recommend this motel. Rooms were very dark (like a cave!) and musty. Furnishings were worn and some looked downright sketchy. There are many other similarly priced options in the area that are not as depressing as this one. It is fine to stay here if you are just passing through and... more
