Such a nice and cozy place to stay. We were there back in November 2009, so it's been awhile, but the breakfasts were great and the room was perfect; nicely decorated and charming. We stayed in the "Library" room (I believe we were told it was the Library in the house before it was converted to the b&b) with a... More

I had a reservation at the Thaddeus Clapp House for next weekend and just got an email from them indicating that as of today (09/17/2011) the property had been sold and all pending reservations for the next three months are cancelled. It remains to be seen how the new owners will handle the property. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the... More

The Clapp House is an old character house in the Berkshires. On the map, it seems, the driving distances are longer than they really are - you can easily get to any of the nearest towns and attractions. The B&B is so conveniently located, it is very easy to find. The rooms are all decorated to add each its own... More

This is a charming B&B conveniently situated near Lenox and Stockbridge and with the home cooked breakfast is definitely a better deal than the chain hotels in the area. The rooms have wonderfully comfortable beds (we stayed in two different rooms) and are well appointed with lovely antiques and nice bathrooms. My only suggestion would be to bring your own... More

On a damp night staying at the Thaddeus Clapp House is definitely worth coming indoors. Just flick a switch and the 'fireplace' with dancing flames turns on and warms the elegant room in a minute. Just luxuriate. And the rooms are so beautiful... with period furnishings and modern comforts. Owner Rebecca Smith fusses over every guest and serves a tempting... More

My husband and I were so pleased and surprised at the accomodations. The rooms (we had a 2 room suite) looked exactly like the photos - very clean, bright and comfortable. Everything you could need was provided; even cola and water in the fridge. The highlight of our stay was breakfast, and more so the time after the meal when... More

Very nice, old place. The room we stayed in has been updated and comfortable. One thing really going for it, that room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Since it's a bed and breakfast, I expected a more elaborate breakfast. It was just adequate. We stayed off season, so the price was OK, but, I think it's a bit... More

We spent just one night here and found the place to be totally satisfactory. It was off-season, so the rate was reasonable in our opinion, especially since a generous cooked breakfast was included (some B&Bs go pretty light on the second B). Our 2nd floor room was comfortable, we were given a full explanation of the amenities, and sat down... More

This was, without question, a bitter disappointment and the worst of the nine hotels over a two week period. It was also one of the most expensive places we stayed at and in that respect, appalling value for money when compared with some of our other venues. Just before you read more, consider looking at our other reviews to appreciate... More

Although the Thaddeus Clapp House looks ordinary from the exterior, the interior is spectacular. The front foyer is gorgeous. We saw several of the upstairs rooms and they were very big, nicely furnished and decorated in period pieces, the beds were comfortable, and they had working gas fireplaces which guests can control. Breakfast was made to order--included with the price--and... More
