The Commons is a lot of money for very little. The property is old and run down, smells musty and looks grimy. Our room was dirty and decrepit. There were cracks and holes in the walls, cobwebs all over the ceiling, seaweed in the shower and the bathroom door did not close. The towels were threadbare and the room was... more

Provincetown Mass is a fantastic little village at the top of Cape Cod. It’s packed with vacationers every day of the week. We are rating The Commons Inn poorly because: 1) The room was small, filthy and in need of repair. We stayed in #7; maybe the others are in better condition. The whole inn needed a really good vacuuming... more

We just returned from July 4th week in Ptown. The Commons is certainly above average for Ptown and the service and restaurant are what seem to make the difference. The daily breakfast, included in the room rate, was over the top. We didn't even bother with our usual breakfast stops, we just went downstairs and relaxed at one of the... more

I checked out the Commons in the shoulder season last fall, looking for a place that would be open all year round and less expensive than the Crowne Pointe. It looked good to me then, and after a night spent there in May 2007 it still does. I chose Room 6, one of their modernized rooms - the one with... more

I stayed at The Commons in October of 2006 and had a wonderful time. My first experience at The Commons was several years ago and this was a return visit. I am a frequent traveler and my recent experience was most enjoyable. The staff was extremely pleasant and I had a delightful stay. The room was nicely appointed (one of... more

My partner and I have been visiting Provincetown since the summer of 1991. We go each year in the month of August. It is always a highlight of our summer holidays and always anticipated. We discovered the Commons in the summer of 2005. We had recently adopted two adorable male beagles and couldn't stay at the old guesthouse that we... more

We celebrated our wedding at the Commons in September 2006. The Staff at the Commons went out of their way to make all of our guests feel comfortable and welcome. The Inn was clean and you can already see the changes and modernization that is happening. As for the food, the Chef David was a master and people are still... more

My stay in Provincetown would have been overshadowed by a doomed start if it hadn't been for the generosity of the staff at the Commons. It started with a bad flight returning to Boston from Colorado visiting my brother, and almost missing the ferry to Provincetown. I had called from the boat to see if there was a problem with... more

This may be the worst place I have ever stayed at. The website is completely misleading and should be shut down. I would think they have absolutely no return business. What was wrong with this place? The walls were cracked, the rooms were dirty, our king bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, the shower ceiling was covered in... more

On a recent trip to P-town we were completely shocked to find the stylish "boutique" hotel highlighted on the website was not at all how is was portrayed. Our group had three rooms -- all of which needed badly to be redone. The common areas were as badly worn and outdated. We were there on a crowded summer weekend, so... more
