This resort had some hard times, but things are looking up under new management. Upgrades have already begun. The lobby has been redecorated. The overall situation is in dire fall off. It was great till a few years ago. The outside pool collapsed. The upkeep is so terrible that anyone i recommended the resort to has ran away. Having stayed at partnering resorts all over the country, this one was a huge dissapointment. Our room was located directly next to the front desk and their supply closet. Granted the Sandcastle is not a 5* resort. It was converted from a hotel/motel type accomodation to a timeshare approx 30 yrs ago when there was no such thing as a 5* timeshare - newly built just for that purpose. This was BY FAR the ABSOLUTE MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN!!!! THE SHOWER WATER WAS BLACK, THE SINK WATER WAS BLACK. We had it booked for 7 nights and we ended up only staying one night.
