Years ago, way before my time, Provincetown was an isolated little fishing village with a reputation for tolerance that suited people whose lifestyles were beyond the mainstream. Then along came the MONEY. Real estate prices went crazy and everyone got an attitude. Good luck finding a decent room for less than $200 per night in season, and forget about staying... more

We were looking for a no frills motel to say in, after a couple of days touring around Cape Cod. We came across this place, and decided to stay the night. We were offered a cheaper room at the back part of the motel, but decided to spend the extra dollars to get a room overlooking the water. The room... more

I was very satisfied with our overnight stay, we did not have unrealistic expectations, the room was small the furniture was ancient, but it was clean and the beach across the street was amazing!! Lesley at check in was very friendly and took a cell phone number in case we needed a call about the dogs, who could be left... more

Ptown is over priced and can be pretentious. But this place is cheap and in a perfect spot looking at the bay, next to the big pool too. The rooms are ancient but they don't pretend to be anything but an old beachy motel. Bring your pet because it's the most pet friendly place I've ever stayed in. The staff... more

we booked 2 rooms at the motel for 3 nights in August after reading the positive reviews on tripadvisor. The motel looks ok from the outside but when we got inside we were most disappointed! The room had bits on the floor so it obviously hadn't been cleaned properly and there were several dead insects on the windowsill. There was... more

When my mother and I checked in, the woman at the front desk was not willing to give an opinion on anything we asked. She stated that all the restaurants were "nice and were about the same price" and that all the whale watching tours were "nice and cost the same price." It was made clear that dogs were welcome... more

I stayed one night at the Breakwater Motel, which is situated right next to the Cape Inn, on the outskirts of Provincetown. The Breakwater was better than expected. Upon booking, it was made clear that the accommodations were no frills. The room had 2 double beds, a private bath (with a shower head that provided delicious water pressure!), and a... more

I just spent 5 lovely days in p-town,after 17 years of experience i taught it would be a great idea to write a review about a nice little place i stayed at.The breakwater motel is not a palace, for $80.00 a night in p-town i wouldn't expect such, but it's a clean, and well located place about a mile away from the center... more

Not a palace, but clean and basic amineties. You can bring your leashed dog and enjoy the ocean directly across the street. A hose to rinse the dog and only 1/4-1/2 mile to downtown. Bring a chair and enjoy your morning coffee from your room or the rocks across the street. Great tide changes and tidal pools. Have been the... more
