No, I'm not exaggerating. We drove over to the Blue Water for their evening fire on the beach with marshmallow roasting for the kids. Besides starting about 40 minutes late, I noticed the "firewood" the staff member was using was scrap lumber from an old fence which was clearly painted and treated. The room was old and dirty and the beach was so so. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the bed sheets were not clean. Best Western should renovate this place as soon as possible. more

We stayed at The Blue Water in August with our dog. What a great place to stay on Cape Cod! It's centrally located-Mid-Cape- with extremely clean rooms, well-run, beautiful beach, delicious breakfasts, great pool area and Cabana Bar with excellent Frozen Cocktails! There is nothing really BAD about this place, but there is nothing really special either, except, of course, the beach, which is nice. We had stayed at another hotel for several years during this time period (right after Labor Day), but decided to make the move to Blue Water. This hotel lived up to some of the bad reviews. Very rude desk staff. The carpet was damp and sticky. The room had old furniture, scratched, etc. The bath had mold on the floor and walls of shower.
