I have stayed here twice, in 2007 and again in 2009 and my pal and I will stay here either at the start or end of our annual trip to USA. The staff are friendly, the service is courteous and the food excellent. Eric Palmer 9 Lowther Court York UK YO31 7EG more

How cool to stay at the "oldest inn in America!" The room was clean and sufficient. The hotel restaurant was very good. We enjoyed having a drink in the old bar, one of the original rooms. The complimentary breakfast was surprising- you actually order off of their menu with selections like lobster and cheese omelet. EXCELLENT!!!!!!! We would definitely stay... more

I feel that I needed to give a different perspective from previous reviewers on the food. My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience on a recent July evening and have had wonderful luncheons here as well. On our most recent visit we had the dinner/concert and strawberry shortcake package. My husband enjoyed his meal at the inn which... more

I am not a picky eater by any means, but this food was just awful. I ate very little as it was so bad. The grounds are lovely and we took a nice walk around. There are a lot better places to eat. Try anywhere else. more

Stayed here as a kid in 1971 on a family car trip and have wanted to come back ever since. My wife, two teenage daughters, and I went on a short sight-seeing vacation to Boston over Easter Break and were lucky enough to reserve Rooms 9 & 10 for one night. Had a delicious dinner in the Tap Room, explored... more

This review is for the restaurant only, since I didn't stay at the inn itself. I'd been considering having the Wayside Inn host my wedding, but that turned into a big no after eating lunch there. In short, it was expensive and terrible. I'm not a picky eater but ended up leaving my ravioli and side of butternut squash pretty... more

My husband and I stopped here one night on the way to Maine. The room was clean but we must have been over a kitchen as it smelled of grease and there was a fan running all night so avoid room 2 if you can! The most disappointing thing was the food, it seemed "packaged" rather than homemade if that... more

We stayed at the Wayside Inn in early June of this year. We loved every minute of our stay. My husband had some work in the area, which left me the pleasure of walking and exploring the whole property. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I can't remember her name, but the dining room hostess was especially friendly and helpful,... more

We found the Wayside Inn to be a totally engaging and delightful experience from the driveway when we first arrived until we sadly watched it disappear around the bend! The grounds were tremendous and included the grist mill, barn, chapel, school house, pond, and gardens. The accommodations were delightful---the most entertaining hotel room ever (and we travel alot)! We stayed... more

I have stayed in the Wayside Inn at least 10 times. It is a beautiful, historic, peaceful place. There is a flower garden, duck pond, old schoolhouse, gristmill, barn and chapel. The dining rooms serve excellent traditional American cuisine in plentiful amounts. The breakfasts, including pancakes made with their own special flour, are wonderful. The rooms are small as you... more
