My husband knew the owners, Red and Rose, when he was a child and stayed with them for months during the summer. So he was especially interested in introducing me to the place. It was very sad. we arrived the day after Labor Day with a reservation for 4 nights and a paid deposit. We were greeted by a sign on ths door saying that the owners had to "regroup" after a very successful summer. For us, however, that meant no soap, no towels, no phone, no meals, no onsite presence of the hosts at all. I am convinced that no one was on the property with us during our stay. When we decided to leave a day early, we were informed that we would loose our $300 deposit, even though we were never asked to register and no card was ever processed. We were honest enough to forfeit the deposit even though we could have left without paying very easily. Very sad for us, especially my huisband who had driven 1,000 miles to show me the place.
