We have relatives in the Bessemer area. Every time we head to the U.P. (“Upper Peninsula” of Michigan), we try to stay at The Bluff’s Inn. I personally have stayed there at least three times in my life; plus, other relatives of mine stay at the The Bluff’s Inn when they go to Bessemer. The rates are great, rooms are clean – it’s nothing fancy-schmancy though, if that’s what you’re looking for. There are 2 buildings at the bluff. The main building has rooms in the front (with deck across whole building) and rooms in the back. Then the 2nd building is set back just a little bit on the property.
It’s close to a gas station, dairy queen, and on Sophie Street (a few blocks away) you can find the Pit Stop Bar & Grill with great food (even serves breakfast at 9am), bank, post office, clothing store (Abelman’s, I think it was called), Italian Bakery, and the Bessemer Heritage Center (open Friday and Saturdays – small, but interesting and free).
