I found this inn online and booked it by phone.
The accommodations and hospitality of the innkeepers, Marilyn and Hassan, were first-rate.
The location clinched the booking for me, as it's only about a 5-minute walk from Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, and I was planning to go to two games there.
It was a bit pricey, but as I said, everything was excellent, making for good value. Nice room, nice lounge areas and friendly people. And breakfast was terrific. I highly recommend the French toast.

The Inn at 97 Winder is one of the greatest places that I have ever stayed. It is a wonderfully restored mansion that is within view of the Fox Theatre, Comerica Park and Ford Field. The room charge includes a gourmet breakfast (no continental breakfast here) that truly was one of the best breakfasts in my lifetime. While the rates are higher than other high-end Detroit hotels, the breakfast is included and there were no other add-on charges, such as parking. I actually felt good about paying for my room because it supported such a beautiful place. I would recommend a stay at this inn without reservation.
