Dana and Chris are great. I only came for one night, and yet they made me feel at home as if I was a long-stay customer. When I asked about public transport from the airport, Dana actually offered to pick me up (which she did); and when my stay ended (after one night) she still found the time in the... More

I booked a room in the carriage house but as they were not full, I was offered a complimentary upgrade to a spacious corner room on the second floor. That touch of generosity and going-beyond-expectations service characterized my short stay. The Inn offers a terrific location close to both downtown dining & entertainment as well as the Kalamazoo College campus,... More

After staying at the inn several times, I have to highly recommend a visit. Chris and Dana do absolutely everything in their power to insure a great visit. We even celebrated my daughter's graduation on the grounds in the beautiful garden. Chris and Dana set up our event, made us coffee, helped us clean up , and, helped us to... More

Easy to find, great location and very comfortable rooms. Dane and Chris are so friendly, but not as friendly as their ace dawg Belvedere. Scrumptious breakfasts too. The B&B has about 9 rooms? Parking is easy, off street. Lovely park-like grounds.

I want to start by saying that like Anderson Cooper, I don't usually like B&B's because it's like visiting your mother, but you don't know your mother (Anderson's description). This place is decidedly different. We stayed in the Gardener's Quarters, which seem to be part of the old carriage house. We had everything we could have wanted, including a partial... More

The Stuart Avenue Inn was the quaint rendezvous for us away from our Portage home. We loved the rooms and the beautiful wood work and vintage wall paper etc. The morning was a sunny yet snowy morning with a delicious breakfast. We think this place would be a great venue for a local bride and her family to host a... More

I spent four years in Kalamazoo so my family and I have had many opportunities to experiment with accommodation options in the city but we have always chosen the Stuart Avenue Inn and will continue to do so! Our experiences at the Inn have always been perfection. I have stayed in, and seen, many of the rooms. They are each... More

Why I will always choose local independent over Hotel Chain: Genuinely warm greeting from Innkeepers; comfortable room with character including wide selection of reading materials fiction, local authors, local guides, local magazine of poetry, and collection of local articles on restaurants and attractions collected by the Innkeepers; truly homemade breakfast of light fluffy eggs, fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, and something... Our extended family (22 folks!) decided to get together between Christmas and Thanksgiving this year for one low-stress holiday party. I chose Stuart Avenue Inn sight unseen by the quality of reviews on the web and Chris and Dana's helpful responses to my emails. I could not have been more delighted with our time there. The house is warm and... More

Dana & Chris put us up twice over one long weekend. On a Thursday in October, we had the place to ourselves. We picked the loft (Lois' Retreat) because we like separate beds, and prefer to be above, rather than below other people. It's also the cheapest, which was a nice bonus. We arrived to find a plate of fruit... More
