The room was small, but very clean and cozy. We had a small balcony that was great for looking out at the lake. it was at the end of the business area, so it was quiet. I would definitely go there again!

Our stay at the Hotel Iroquois was AMAZING and VERY CLEAN! We loved the view from our 3rd floor room and it was also a spacious room, too. We loved the dinner at the restaurant so much we went back a second time! Amazing food and service - just perfect. PLANNING to stay again in the springtime. GREAT STAY!!

A favorite of a dear friend, the Iroquois did not disappoint. Understated elegance at the water’s edge. Beautiful public rooms and accommodations. Accommodating staff. Carriage House restaurant is a perfect venue to enjoy gourmet dining. What’s not to like?

We are from Texas and had never been to Mackinac Island, so picking a hotel was based on Trip Advisor recommendations and a bit of a guess. We were extremely happy with our stay at Hotel Iriquois. We walked off the ferry and the hotel was less than a block away. Even though it's in the central district, it's on the end and it has the feeling of being all by itself on the coast! The rooms were clean and the bathrooms nice. Bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice and we had room service every day. My favorite part of staying at this hotel was hearing the clomp, clomp of horses going by every day. It takes you back in time! There are sitting areas in the front, which we used and beautiful gardens in the back, which we didn't use due to it being a bit misty while we were there (wet). A couple of other bits of advice: We were there Aug 25 and 26 and by the time we got there the crowds had waned, which was kind of nice. Bike rentals are a block away. If you have trouble climbing stairs try to get a room on the first or second floor, we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to our room and they are narrow and high, I was always out of breath at the top. The hotel restaurant is great for the free breakfast and makes the stay more worth the price. I would not recommend the hotel restaurant for dinner, though, it's expensive and portions are small. My husband paid $47 for a seafood pasta that looked like an appetizer. Why they wouldn't add a bit of pasta to make it more substantial (which would cost pennies) I don't understand. We would stay here again and would recommend to friends.

Wow, what an amazing experience! Such a beautiful hotel and the staff members were all wonderful. Very kind front desk people, which always makes a difference. They kept my husband’s diabetes medications in the fridge for him and were very helpful. I appreciated the constant ice water supply in the front room, the quiet atmosphere, and the beautiful porch overlooking the gardens outside our bedroom. The pier is beautiful. Just outstanding!

This was our first trip to the island. I was shocked at how many people come to the island for the day. There are so many people, you can hardly walk down the sidewalk. There are no cars on the island and people are on horses or pedal bikes. We saw the police bust someone for using an electric bike. No electric bikes! It was all a bit primitive for me. The hotel is very nice, and has top service. We rented bikes and drove around the entire island. Most of the island is beautiful and uninhabited. We stopped at points of interest, hiked up a couple of ridges, and it still took less than two hours. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the dock, drinking a martini, and watching a family of otters.

The hotel is beautiful; location perfects: view from our room breath-taking: front office staff not very friendly except Maddie • came for the Chicago to Mackinaw boat race and was given incorrect information at the time I made the reservation• Called 3 days before my arrival to ask regarding race and Susie, who I believe is the GM, asked if I wanted to modify my reservation• my comment to that was” our airline tickets are non refundable, we had arranged our time off from our jobs “ I then asked do you even have rooms available for a later arrival? To which she answered no!!!Her next statement was “ what do you want me to do?” I said there is nothing you can do, and said good bye. The entirety of my 4 days there nothing was said, no apology no nothing. Will never stay at Hotel Iroquois again.

Very nice stay overall, though as always, there were some areas that could use improvement. First, the good: Beautiful hotel! The building itself is inviting. The common areas are nicely laid out and decorated. Great location! Close to everything in town, but more importantly it is right on the water with an incredible view. We enjoyed seeing the rainbows, boat traffic, lighthouses and blue water from the room. Beautiful room! Bright with sunlight and with vibrant colors. Very clean. Housekeeping was outstanding in maintaining our room and the hotel in general. The housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating, speaking whenever we passed in the halls. The dock was a terrific place to hang out in the evenings, though the wait staff seemed put off if you did not order something. I presume the dock was to be used by guest of the hotel and not just the restaurant. Next, the not so good: The front desk staff was hot and cold. We had a nice reception when we arrived in the late afternoon. But, the next morning the staff member at the desk acted frazzled while helping one family check out as I waited my turn. She literally looked at me, signed, and said I would have to wait because she was helping them. Not sure what prompted that. Never very warm welcomes after check in. Mostly ignored by the staff. I am not sure who the concierge was supposed to be, but it was hard to get them out of the back office at the front desk. Also, the drain in the bathroom since and the toilet were incredibly slow to empty. Oddly, the shower did not have the same problem. We did not ask for maintenance because we did not want that kind of work going on while we were there. But, it did dampen the experience. It may be the age of the property or maybe a simple fix. Finally, I am not sure they could find a more surly breakfast staff. One woman worked with her hand on her hip and the most unpleasant countenance. When asked for something, the reply may as well have been "if I have to". One young lady actually smiled and engaged when I attempted to be friendly. The dining room often had a number of tables that were empty and could have been cleared, but sat that way for quite a while forcing guests into the less pleasant appearing back dining room. And, a number of items ran out and were replenished only upon request. This was not just my observation, but I heard at least half a dozen guest make similar critiques. All in all, I definitely recommend this. I would however suggest they spend a bit more time training in customer service. Just take some more interest in the people in front of you. The rest seems to run well. Oh, and fix the plumbing or at least warn the guest that there are draining issues.

Best views of the harbor and the coming and goings of visitors, if you enjoy that. At the "quiet end" of Main Street. Place is always immaculate. Room decor superb. Staff friendly and efficient. Walking distance from everywhere.
