This hotel is in the centre of Trincomalee and while the beach is nice, this is not the place to come to for a beach holiday. But if you must to stay in town for some reason, try to look for another place. This place has cockroaches and bugs, mosquitoes but no net, the room or bathroom have not been... More

I thought my room was pretty bog standard when I arrived. No window, pretty drab affair if I'm honest. Then the AC started leaking everywhere so I complained and switched rooms. New room stank, had cigarette burns in the bed linen and a lovely family of cockroaches in the bathroom. I'm pretty sure there was a rat scratching around above... More

During our travels, my partner and I turned up in Trinco at 5pm with no hotel booked. We stumbled upon Green Park Beach Hotel and were pleased to find a clean, comfortable room with AC & fan. We decided to eat at the hotel too and were even more please to discover their delicious Indian inspired cuisine. I recommend it!... More

While this hotel is a lovely attempt at a beautiful beach-side resort, the cleanliness of the rooms is lacking. The A/C and fans did a good job cooling the room--however, the worst part were the rats or mice or some large creatures in the ceiling that woke me up at 4am running around and fighting or something. The toilet didn't... More

Like the previous reviewers mentioned, the 'normal' (non-ac) rooms are available for Rs2000 (double), and are ok for a place to crash. They call it CDC or something like that and is a few hundred meters away from the main hotel. The food here however is really good and reasonably priced. the buriani I had here is one of the... More

Most people come here and stay outside of town, uppavuli and nilavelli and still think they've "done" trinco. The town itself is well worth staying in for at least a week as there are lots of things to see and do and the place has a fairly relaxed atmosphere these days (we spoke to some locals about the conflicts here... Just remember Trincomalee is emerging from almost 30 years of isolation. I found Green Park Hotel to be in a good location facing the nice Dutch Beach, and easy access from the bus port. The surrounding architecture is interesting and is being renovated, so eventually could be a very attractive street scape. I stayed one night. $43 for one person... More

We stayed there for one night and had an interesting experience... At first we were put on the top floor but discovered, just as we were going to bed, that the bed was infested with bugs, some that appeared to have come from the roof, others out of the mattress. There was also scratching coming from the roof, quite creepy.... More
