I stayed at the Casa Ivana for two nights after abandoning the awful Hostal La Clinica for being too noisy. Casa Ivana is the cheapest place I've ever stayed at in my life at a price of $7 (140 Cordoba) per night for a single room. For my $7 I got a decent sized room with two single beds, both with mosquito netting (which I didn't find neccesarry), A powerful ceiling fan, a table and chair, and a good sized bathroom with shower sink and toilet. I even got soap and shampoo! It was boiling hot in Leon in May, but if I slept directly under the fan, I was comfortably cool. The place was quiet, yet only a couple blocks from the Parque Central. The family that owns it spoke about zero English, but they smiled a lot and made me feel at home. The place is not the Hilton by any means, but for seven bucks, it's a heck of a find. I'd stay here again. more
