There are only four proper hotels on Vis, and this is probably the best, but that doesn't mean it's wonderful!
From the outside, it's an attractive building right in the middle of the main waterfront area in Vis Town. I had what seemed to be the best room, in the middle of the first floor with lovely views over the bay and towards the monastery.
There's a terrace on the ground floor along the front of the hotel where you can have lunch or just a drink and sit and watch the boats tie up at the quayside. So far so good, you're probably thinking...
The downside of this hotel is that its interior is badly in need of updating. Although I had presumably the best room in the hotel, it gave the impression that it hadn't been touched by a decorator for 30 or 40 years. The furnishings were completely uninspiring and the bathroom was very old-fashioned. But...everything worked...it's not expensive...so you get what you pay for.
