We've been coming to Petoskey for umpteen years--first renting homes in Bayview and then, with children grown up, staying at Stafford's Bayview Inn. People who come to Stafford's ought to know something about the community of Bayview. In brief, people come to Bayview for peace, neighborliness, charm, and courtesy. My husband and I stayed at this bed and breakfast type hotel in February of 2008 to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we loved it! Booked directly with hotel. For the price, expect more, MUCH more, for a premier hotel (and I've stayed all over the world.) This hotel claims wireless in rooms - not so. And when asked about that, was told to bring my laptop down to the lobby and use it there. -- Some plugs and lights were non-functioning rendering my battery... more

Stafford's Bay View Inn is fantastic!!! It is a 32 room victorian inn that has been in business consecutively since the late 1880's. There are several suites and each unit is unique. There are journals in each room with entries from guests over the years. Ours in particular had some quite intriguing stories that I discussed with Stafford himself one... more

Ate dinner here recently on a Saturday evening. No need for reservations. Not too busy. Pretty dining room, and lobby of small hotel/inn. Service was excellent and very friendly. I never knew how beautiful Petoskey is! Stafford's Bay View Inn is charming. The only room available was their smallest type with the least desirable view, but it was just fine, though a bit expensive. We had dinner and breakfast downstairs, and both were great. more

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel while attending my nephew's wedding. What a wonderful experience. Rooms are quaint and charming preserving the historic feel of the inn.
