Stayed overnight for a wedding, and couldn't believe the terrible state of the rooms. Dirty, broken furniture, holes in walls, ripped carpeting, and the beds were the worst, like sleeping on a piece of concrete. Good thing there was a lazy boy chair in room, as I had to sleep in that, and even it was broken down and sagging.... more

My wife and I have stayed here a dozen times over a dozen years, but not in 2 years because we found it going to seed a couple years ago. We gave it another chance, but wish we hadn't. The staff were young and inexperienced, and must be embarrassed at the general shabby conditions, including ancient Herculon and broken furniture;... more

We wanted to do a quick getaway but stay fairly close to home. Edison Inn was a good choice. We had nice experience here before so we chose to stay here. We chose the whirlpool room with queen bed. It had nice view of the bridge and the river. The restaurant has varied menu and the food was great. more

what is wrong with all the people leaving the poor reviews. yes it is quaint and historic but that is what adds the charm. wonderful setting beside the river. have already decided to return and take my parents. perfect location if you love the water, boats and you can sit on your balcony and enjoy everything if you just want... more

After reading some bad reviews about TEI, we were a little worried about booking here. We contacted the hotel directly. Very easy to make the reservations and very friendly personnel. We called to say that we would arrive early and they graciously said that they would do everything they could to accommodate our early arrival. And they did! We were... more

We travelled from Scotland to this hotel, the brochures showed a beautiful hotel. It was such a dissapointment, the room was filthy and full of cobwebs, the staff couln't have cared less and were extremely unhelpful. more

We were getting away after a year planning our daughter's wedding, Something on the Sunrise side of Mi sounded fun. So we chose Port Huron, Well the weather was something to be desired. We arrived at the Thomas Edison Inn on Fri. evening and were greeted with nice desk staff , very happy to have us. We ate dinner at... more

My family has been staying at the TEI for many many years. And while it never has been anything to write home about, I have loved the views, somewhat luxurious ambiance of the hotel, and the memories it has brought me of my childhood staying here. The hotel staff has literally always been unfriendly, so we expected that. We didn't... more

Front desk staff at both check-in & check-out had attitudes of “Don’t care”, “Take it or leave it”. Only one desk person was on duty at check-in, taking a phone reservation. Had to wait several minutes to be acknowledged. Then, SURPRISE. I would have to put up a “security” deposit of $15 for “incidentals” on my credit card. I was... more

I really loved this hotel! Yes, it's old and the rooms aren't modern but who cares!?!?! We stayed for a total of 2 nights during Labor Day weekend. It was exactly what I was looking for! A hotel not too far away from home on the water. Let me start with how NICE everyone in that hotel is! The entire... more
