We do a color tour every fall, and this year booked a couple nights at The Shack. Decent rustic room with hot tub. Lighting in the room was dim and spread out, such that we could barely see to read. We read very few reviews about the Shack and really didn't know what to expect (we stayed there over a weekend where we were visiting my old summer camp in Fremont, MI). Booked a night at the Shack while in the area on business based on a colleague's recommendation. Thought we were in for a stinker when the hotel recommended by our relatives was full and this was all we could find close to their quite rural home but this place rocks! This is a secluded woodsy atmosphere. Terrific food, service, hot tub rooms, privacy. If you like the outdoors, log cabins, hot tubs, great food, and a family or couples atmosphere. This is it!!! more
