We decided to spend a second weekend at the Beacon Point after a fantastic stay our first time a year ago. To say we were disappointed this time would be an understatement. The first time we went we stayed in a one bedroom condo for a fair price. It was a bit higher than we paid at other shore side... more

This was a really nice place for the money. It is pretty new so everything was really clean and modern and nice. The rooms were big and had little kitchenette's if you want to bring food for a picnic lunch or something. The bed was very comfortable, and all the furniture was up to date and contemporary. The continental breakie... more

I lived here for three months and found it to be very efficient and comfortable. The rooms were clean and well maintained throughout my stay. The front desk provided excellent customer service. The indoor pool was not quite warm enough in October - December, but the hot tub was great. A nice walk into town and the hotel loans bikes... more

We stayed in the penthouse suite and found it well designed with a great view. However, we could hear every door close from the rooms below us and their TV. The hotel looks nice but they skimped on the construction and there is no luxury when you cannot sleep in on vacation due to your neighbors. This was not a... more

We had a great time at this hotel. We had previously stayed at the Canal Park Lodge for a few days, then went to the Grand Superior Resort in Two Harbors for a few days and then headed back to Duluth to finish out our trip. We were supposed to go back to the Canal Park Lodge but ended up... more

When making reservations, great assistance and explanation of resort. Once we checked in the assistance fell way short. There was no signage in the condo explaining how to turn on the fireplace, jacuzzi. We had to call every time we needed toilet paper. Only one roll was distributed when asked, not after cleaning even. Our apt had full kitchen but... more

This place is more like a long-term hotel for business travelers: It's jammed between the lake and a freeway off-ramp, with construction noise, average continental breakfast, a small, grotty, cloudy swimming pool, paper-thin walls, and few amenities. It is far enough from downtown that you have to drive everywhere, but not far enough to offer any isolation or quiet. The... more

I traveled to Beacon Pointe with a group of 10 girlfriends and it was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. It was way nmor ethan I had expected. We stayed in a three-bedroom suite (presedential suit, I think). The building and furnishings were new and everything was in working condition. There were three bathrooms and two jaccuzzi... more

Fabulous, relaxing, clean pet friendly resort. I'm picky about hotels, and pet friendly ones are sometimes suspect, but this was the big ticket. We have a westie who loves to travel, and all 3 of us loved this place. Fantastic breakfast and perfectly located on the lake walk. Will return for sure! more

This is a beautiful new resort right on Lake Superior, and relatively close to everything in Duluth... but not walking distance to anything except the lake walk and the lake. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. It had a jacuzzi (which my mom loved), a king sized bed (which I loved), and a pull out couch (Which my mom... more
