Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I never write reviews but I was absolutely appalled at my stay here. The room was dirty and mold was prominent in the bathroom. This is a health code violation. Makes me wonder what else occurs that we aren’t seeing behind the scenes. Also, the staff are incompetent and don’t seem to know how to provide adequate customer service. After explaining my dissatisfaction with the room, they promised me a $50 discount on my room. Still have yet to receive it or directly hear from the manager. I stayed in a hotel at the same price the next night for incredible service. Don’t waste your money here.

We stayed here overnight on opening night for Bentleyville. We had a good experience here. The staff was great. The room was good. The snow definitely helps the parking lot situation. The also have a pool and fitness room. They also offer breakfast. Would definitely stay here again

was told at check in there were no "clean rooms" on the first floor. Yet saw people checking in After me given rooms on first floor. Got to room, sheets and mattress on one queen bed were wet all the way through. front desk not picking up phone, walked all the way downstairs again. house keeping was sent, girl stripped linen, put a towel on the mattress and started to make bed over the towel. I wanted a new room, once again downstairs to discuss with front desk. given another room, A/C noisy all night, coffee maker did not have a holder for the coffee pouch. Poor service. will never come back.

There was plenty wrong with this hotel. The hallways needed vacuuming and smelled musty from years of smoke. The a/c was noisy, parking lot is a disaster. I would not recommend. Also, they still use styrofoam for coffee cups!!! So bad.

The room was clean ,sheets and pillows were okay. The mattress was cheap but not a bad sleep on it. Shower Tub was chipped should be changed. The room had a good sized fridge and mike.Tv had limited channels but had the option to use your own account of Netflicks, Amazon etc. The ceiling tiles need replacing or painting through out the hotel. The parking lot area and drive in was terrible, gravel full of large holes and broken pavement. The pool was nice and there was a large soaker hot style tub. No jets or bubbles. The breakfast was okay with waffles being the only hot item. All the hotels when we went were very expensive this was the least expensive but not really worth the $600. Can for 2 nites. And the hotel was close to full.

This hotel and service is just crap! the driveway is wicked rough. The room is substandard. TV wouldn't work, exercise equipment was broken, and to top it off....we had to empty our garbage can from our room. Wife brought it to maid service in the hall. They said they wouldn't take it. Was told to consult with front desk. Front desk then told her to take it out to the dumpster herself! Unbelievable! The service is deplorable! Never again in a Choice hotel!

The parking lot is like a Ukrainian war zone, literally. A person risks their car's suspension coming or going. The room smelled of dog,. floors needed cleaning, and the bed was minimal, as were the pillows. The bathroom did not even have a vanity, forcing us to lug our toiletries back and forth. I didn't ask for a handicapped room, but they put us in one. Highlights are cooperative, helpful staff, decent Wi-Fi and a decent breakfast. The next time we're in the Duluth area, I would pay extra money and stay elsewhere.

Had I checked reviews I wouldn’t of stayed here! The pictures are of the parking lot, I’m lucky I didn’t have damage to my truck, it’s out of the twilight zone, especially coming thru there in the dark. I tried to be done for the day before dark but didn’t happen. When we were going to check in I hit a huge bump that I’m lucky didn’t do damage, I’m surprised people book here. Never again… The shower had a clump of hair and tiny flies flying around. It was cleaned before we returned to the hotel later. It smelled of smoke. The rooms aren’t cleaned until you check out,you have to ask for supplies, how sanitary is this with covid still going on… the breakfast is so little, the girl at the desk looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked for a tray to bring to room. I was in the breakfast room and she didn’t bother to bring me the tray, so rude.. the breakfast had little choices we picked up our own for the last day a sorry excuse for a hotel. I went to the pool the first night, it was night and the lights are dimmed probably because they don’t want you to see the dirty pool. I didn’t use again, I was excited at first when I saw the hotel had a pool, That changed when I saw how dirty it was. I don’t recommend this the price was low but that’s how they get people to book. It’s disgusting and rooms aren’t cleaned until you leave. No tip for housekeeping, they did nothing for us…👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 The red line in the picture shows a big gap of where it isn’t level driving. Last point you can hear everything going on thru the walls, terrible. Hard to sleep when it’s so noisy…

I stayed at the Econo Lodge in June 2022. I was running the Grandma's Marathon and waited too long to find a hotel. I like the many review readers saw the comments about the potholes and the aged/outdated rooms. Upon arrival there was evidence that they were filling the potholes and that workers were onsite. In Duluth with those winters, many of the roads look just the same. All I can say is that they need a few more parking spaces. When we walked in, I was immediately expecting to regret my choice to stay. Silly Me - I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I found the lobby area clean, the staff friendly and our room was nice. Yes, nice - not luxurious but the bed was comfortable and the sheets/mattress were clean (YES I LOOKED!) The bathroom was clean and provided us with the basic personal amenities. The TV worked and my husband napped in the recliner soundly. I didn't get to use the pool because we had so much on our itinerary but it looked clean it was being enjoyed by a family without any issues. I was also so impressed to find a spread on our way out the door to the buses for the runners. That was the best pear I have ever eaten!!! I sadly expected the worst and found that the Econo Lodge gave me just what I needed. I am booked for the June 2023 race - maybe this time I will get in the pool.
