I stayed at this property for two nights over Halloween weekend. Was in town for the Michigan State v Minnesota football game. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Hotel offers a shuttle to nearby TCF Stadium and any other nearby location if reserved in advance. Property has a warehouse/minimalist feel to it. The aloft is a few steps from the Mississippi River near St. Anthony's Falls in a restored area that was once the site of warehouses and flour mills. Our room wasn't cleaned until 6 pm the first day of our stay and had a very unpleasant odor in the room, the other family we were traveling with had the same issue with the unpleasant odor. It was difficult to get the lights in sync, when you turned on what you thought were the bathroom lights all the lights... more

I don't need people waiting on me hand and foot (which is I guess what characterizes a true luxury hotel) but I do appreciate hotels that try something different. Wireless internet is free. I booked my guests a block of rooms at the Aloft for my wedding. They "forgot" to mention it was Seduction Night! A local seduction networking group was taking over the entire lobby. There must have been 500 people dressed in bikinis and hardly any clothes. My grandparents were greeted at the door by a women in body paint. Worst... more

Spent 3 days in Minneapolis and did not need a car. Aloft is a short walk from a light rail station and the Metrodome. Did the airport, baseball, shopping at Mall of America, Nicollet Mall, and went dancing 2 nights without having to drive once.
