We needed a hotel close to Mayo Clinic, so Kahler Inn & Suites was connected by a subway. One day it was raining and quite stormy. It was great to walk into the hotel lobby and go down one flight and be in the subway. No need to go outside. The subway was a plus. But I do have some... more

I have read the reviews listed and I couldn't find anything wrong with this hotel. Our room was clean, smelled good, exactly as stated in their ad. The parking may be limited, but we had no problems with handicapped parking. The subway made our stay so easy and would definately stay again. I think maybe some of the bad reviews... more

We made reservations for only four days, but additional days were needed because of unforseen events. Hotel worked around their crowed schedule to help us with our extended stay. Yes, the hotel is showing its age, but the housekeeping kept up with our needs. One problem could be corrected with the addition of sheets and blankets that actually fit the... more

We have been there for two weeks in Dec. of last year and again two weeks in Jan. of this year. From that time to now Oct., 2007 it has really gone down hill. The rooms are getting worse, the air did not work an the water was not hot the carpets look like they have not been cleaned at... more

My 3 sisters and I stayed in two rooms at the Kahler Inn; we had about 2 days notice as one sister had to have surgery @ a Mayo hospital in a hurry. We found our rooms spatious and as clean as most low- to mid-priced chains (e.g. better than most La Quintas I've been in). The beds were comfortable.... more

This is at best a 3 star hotel. Rooms are really old and tired looking. There were rooms on our floor that were in complete shambles. Bed was real hard and uncomfortable. If you are staying for a few days, its better to stay at Kahler Grand. Rates are a bit more but rooms are substantially better. I will not... more

Needs some serious updates. Plumbing is very old, water goes hot to cold. Housekeeping not very thorough. Had trouble with one staff member concerning bill. He was very sassy. Only perk is that it has underground walkway to Mayo. more

After seeing reports posted to this site about problems with the hotel not honoring requests for non-smoking rooms, the person in our group who made the reservations called a couple of times to check up on things and confirm non-smoking status. We had absolutely no trouble with that aspect when we checked in late Wednesday afternoon. The room smelled good,... more

We booked a block of rooms 3 months prior to our visit. When we arrived the 5 suites we reserved were not available. What! They told us we would have to take smoking rooms instead. 3 in our group argued and clawed their way into the hotel management 'magically fnding non-smoking suites' and 2 took smoking rooms. They allow the... more

We stayed at the Kahler Inn and Suites for the Star of the North Games. This place is in need of some updates. The suite was good sized but had only 1 TV. The biggest beef we had was that we booked a non-smoking room but they had only smoking available. Seems they place priority on Mayo Clinic families who... more
