The Econo Lodge - Corinth is an aging mid-70s hotel with well-worn buildings, rooms and pool. It was probably a pretty decent Best Western in a prior life, with a banquet hall and restaurant and perhaps even a lounge. All those amenities are a fading memory.
By well-worn, I don't mean shabby or dirty. Everything was clean and tidy except for one hand towel with a suspicious brown smudge...I just tossed it under the sink and pushed it out of mind.
The room was right-sized for the rate. The pillows lacked substance but the rest of the bedclothes were spot-on. The old, single-pane windows, sans UV coating, warmed up the blackout curtain in the morning sun, but the AC kept things under control. The signal on the 27" tube TV ranged from crystal-clear nationals to abysmal locals. No high-speed Internet access.
The sunny outdoor pool was great for the kids. Perfect water temperature with no chemical problems. Many cracked tiles on the deck immediately...
