Overall the Alluvian is great; the atmosphere is fun, the food is great, and the service is friendly. I have primarily visited for spa trips. The spa services, especially the massages, are great. I have two issues with the spa. First, the spa has an automatic 18% gratuity. I disagree with this. I usually give 18% - 20% gratuity, but... more

The hotel has all the potential to be one of the best hotels in the South, but...we could hear everything from the room next door, and it was not an adjoining room. The hotel facilities and room amenities are very nice. The breakfast is great, and the living room with fire place is well done. The best part of our... more

My trip here was simply for relaxation. I had read about The Alluvian in Southern Living Magazine, other local publications and heard from a few friends that it was a great place to stay. My friend and I went to experience the hotel and the spa. The hotel service was excellent. The staff was courteous and quite helpful. Mostly, I... more

We traveled to the Alluvian for a quick Anniversary trip. I spoke with the staff a few times prior to our trip. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very elegant. The rooms are plush. The Alluvian has a 4 diamond rating but really should be a 5 diamond! Every member of the staff (front desk, housekeeping, the... more

Like most others, we were here for the cooking school. The hotel was just as described by others, that is first class in every respect. Beds wonderfully soft, room spotless, service as needed. We ate at the Crystal Grill - a pleasant walk from the hotel - and were happy there, too. Breakfast at the Alluvian was part of the... more

My one night visit to this hotel was perfect in every way. Gorgeous room, wonderful staff, and right across the street from the hote's pa and Viking cooking school What a great combination of activities in the middle of a blue's music lover's history and heritage. Be sure to find the time to stop by this boutique hotel for a... more

The Alluvian is a total anomaly. I still can;t really work out what on earth it's doing in the middle of poor (literally) old Greenwood. We stayed there for one night while driving to Memphis and had a lovely room which would be excellent if put in a major city, let alone a country town. The fit-out of the entire... more

After reading several stories about The Alluvian and Viking's role in the town, my husband and I decided to make the drive down. We were a little nervous as we've never considered Mississippi a vacation place. I can say we were thrilled with our weekend in Greenwood. The Alluvian is a beautiful hotel. The bar and the lobby area are... more

If you're staying at this hotel, its almost guaranteed that you are either coming to the Viking Cooking School, are working for Viking, are interviewing with Viking, or are doing business with Viking. Greenwood, Mississippi sadly has nothing really to offer other than the fact that the headquarters for the fancy schmanzy Viking Range Corporation is headquartered here. Not only... more

This small boutique hotel is lavish and remarkably furnished. From the marble to the astoundingly comfortable beds, it's worth the trip just to stay in the room! more
