I booked a room online for $65 and requested a non-smoking room. When i arrived, just before 10PM the lobby was shut, and I had to stand outside in the alley and talk to the night auditor through a prison window. The night auditor first offered to sell me the room I had payed for, and when I told her I had a reservation with advanced deposit she ran my credit card for $50 and gave me a smoking room. She said that was all she had, and that according to my reservation request that is what i had requested in the first place. I just checked the request, and it was definitely for a non smoking room. She also said she had just started there, and was not trained very well. Whatever. When I got to the room with my wife, the air conditioning had been left off, and the room was about 110 degrees. There were cigarette burns in the shower, and the air smelled like an old sock and burnt human lung. I hope we don't get robbed tonight, because the hotel seems to be in a dangerous area.
