This new hotel wasn't even listed anywhere but we were directed to it by a local convenience store operator when we stopped for coffee as we were evacuating from New Orleans for Hurricane Gustav. We're so happy we found it -- saved us the long trip to the hotel we had reserved in Memphis. The hotel itself was much, much nicer in quality and amenities than I expected to find in a small town like this.

The rooms are larger than expected. The hotel quickly filled up with other evacuees -- and I'm quite sure that a full house so quickly after opening was something they were definitely not expecting. The staff reacted with grace and warmth -- fixed any glitches very quickly and were quite understanding of our need to be flexible on how long we'd stay. They were so gracious.

The pool seems small because it's indoor but I think it's probably a regular sized hotel pool. Being indoor was a real bonus when the weather got iffy. Compact work out room. Small business center... more
