I visited Oxford with family in October. It was a slower time of year and the weather was starting to change -- just gogeous. The staff at the Downtown Oxford Inn is amazing and incredibly accomodating. We arrived to fresh baked cookies and coffee in the lobby. Everything was as we requested and the room was cozy and clean. Most... more

We stayed here three nights while in town for an event at the University. I had the feeling this room is designed for people who like to come party, drink beer and watch football. The room wasn't dirty but didn't seem clean enough for me to really relax. We were also near the house keeping station where the staff liked... more

this is an older hotel with the rooms on the outside. the rooms were your standard 2-3 star hotel rooms without many frills. the big upside to this hotel is its location to the oxford town square. i didn't try the breakfast but instead opted to eat at BBB which was outstanding. more

This place was just OK. After reading the reviews, I was expecting an actual, yet small, full-service hotel. Instead, it's basically a Holiday Inn-style motel with a little lipstick. Service is just OK--the folks at the desk were no more friendly or helpful than all the other nice Southerners around town. I arrived at 9PM and the restaurant, which advertises... more

Staff of the hotel were outstanding. They went out of their way to help me and my wife. Rooms were clean and the location to the Square was perfect. There is a new steakhouse restaurant inside the hotel called Prime and it gets an A+ rating. Had dinner there twice and lunch the first day. We will be back more

I've not stayed at many hotels in Oxford, so it's hard to give any comparison. This place is decent, but not what I'm used to. It is quite noisy due to people coming and going at all times of day and night. Will try NOT to stay there again. more

To start with, there is location. Oxford is an amazing small town, with wonderful restaurants and great shopping around the square. The Downtown Oxford Inn and Suites is the only hotel within walking distance of the square. Given the limited parking around the square, that can be a big deal. The hotel was built in the 1960’s, so you know... more

Ideal location. Stayed there 2/22-24. Was able to get government rate. Cordial front desk - cookies and coffee always available. Room had been totally re-done. One of the cleanest rooms I've ever had. Great linens, very comfortable mattress. Slept very well. Breakfast was also great - waffles, sausage biscuits, hot and cold cereals, fruits, bagels, etc. Would definitely stay there... more

The real plus point for this hotel is its ideal location, just a short walk from the town centre. Whilst the reception and breakfast areas are both bright and well decorated the standard rooms are a little dark and very much the tired side. A makeover would make this hotel an excellent all rounder, clearly not all rooms were decorated... more
