We went for a birthday meal. Our daughter has autism and food phobias. I phoned beforehand and explained the situation. They could not have been more supportive and cooked a special meal for my daughter. The meal we had was delicious and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. I highly recommend Trethorne Golf Club restaurant and it was a pleasure to eat there. If there were a higher award than 5 stars l would happily give it and very special thanks to the manager.

Wasn’t made to feel welcome at all. This is a golf club with rooms. Not a hotel. Room ok but corridors smelt very musty. The outside tables had two umbrellas with no bases and it was very hot with no shade. Air conditioning in the bar ( where you sit to eat if you have a dog) not switched on. Flies everywhere in that room. Breakfast included, but there was one solitary broken fried egg on the hot plate, and the bacon and sausages were pale and unappetising. Seriously folks, find a travelodge instead of going here. You will feel more welcome and standards are much better. The management team ask for feedback and then can’t even be bothered to reply. That sums up the whole place.

6 on a Sunday/ Monday golf break. Great value with 2 rounds of golf, evening meal bed and breakfast. Easy check in and staff all helpful. Food was good in the evening and prompt service even though the restaurant was packed, breakfast also was good. Only down side was the accommodation which was very close to the main road by the entrance to the golf club, this made it impossible to leave the window open for some fresh air.

Great hotel and staff. I took my 10 year old Grandaughter for a few days as a treat. It was a perfect stay all round. Trethorne barn play are almost on site but just a short walk. All day activities inside and out. Go-carts, boats, drop slide, bowling etc. All made perfect by staying in a family room that was extremely comfortable. Separate toilet from shower room, as always children always seem to need the toilet if in combined bathroom. So no issues with that and had a shower in peace. Comfortable beds and quiet. Good that the hotel stipulates quiet time in family areas from 10pm-7am. Restaurant breakfast and dinner fabulous as where the staff. Outside seating and play area with wonderful views. Great for us as the sun shone throughout. So thankyou to all members of staff for making our stay so enjoyable. Grandaughter upset when we left but I promised her we would go back again. I would certainly recommend a family stay here or a base for couples too.

A lovely place to stay the staff don't seem to have one job but about 6 but this isnt to the hotel or clubs detriment. Far from it. It means that you can ask someone and they sort it, it doesn't get passed to the housekeeper or other such things but shared as a team. Ask the Reception manager for toilet roll, they get it for you. The staff team seem like a little family unit too, always pally with each other no back biting and they come and hang out with families on days off. The resteraunt/bar manager/head waitress or whatever title is an absolute gem of a staff member. Never stops moving, always on hand to sort you out. Clocks you at breakfast to prioritise a table for you. Can't do enough. Be warned; she's rapid!! Genuinely not met one member of staff Ive thought "meh" too. Oh the facilities are great too... The rooms are comfortable and clean. Note the superior club house rooms have the benefit of being on site to bar and great for families but they dont have the air conditioning unfortunately. They do provide fans, iron/ironing board, open wardrobe, lamps, hairdryer, kettle, free view TV the usual. You have access to everything when there and do feel like a priority guest. They have a kids menu that has lots of choice but contained choice, those with kids will appreciate this (pic below). The location is rural but its 3 miles from a tesco should you want anything you've forgotten and you can get on the A30 inside 2 mins. Launceston is a beautiful town. The onsite Trethorne Leisure park is an absolute gem or good or rainy days, you get a discount in as a hotel member too. This is walkable from any part of the resort. You dont need to move car. The staff there are more mixed, the just out of adolescence lads are a bit as you'd expect with whirlwind kids the pot noodle hair is the new "Rachel" it would seem and they're too cool. Nothing offensive like just a bit more dour. The ladies on the bar/bowling alley, more chefs kiss. Acres of onsite parking to be had. It says first come but honestly unless the PGA tour is in town you're gonna be fine.

This hotel is situated just off the A30 and has plenty of parking spaces the room we had was very nice and lovely big bed but the room was let down by the mouldy and peeling wall/celling in the bathroom. The windows above the bed needed replacing as they were condensation inside and rather drafty plus the noise from the road and wind these windows let in.Which really let down this room as the bed was comfortable plus had a nice size tv.Breakfast was included in the room it was a very average breakfast have had better

I had high hopes for this the way it read! We arrived, parked, my son set off the reception, I finished parking and getting stuff from the car, I locked the car and son turned up and said get back in and drive back on ourselves.. My idea of a hotel is all guests are under one roof, this was like a nice HMO, room was comfy and clean, could do with more teabags, sugar etc.. in the morning back in to the car back up to park and then the uphill walk to breakfast.. NOT good when your disabled, I went into the reception area and said to the female behind the desk that's not very good for the disabled and laughed though in pain... she said and I quote ' did I let them know when booking the room that I was disabled' I said no as I didn't realise that the set up is like this I thought it would be contained all of one roof, she said ' if I had let them know when booking they could have helped' I again said I would have had I know it was spread out and not under one roof .... she did not understand what I was trying to explain and she was very clearly unhappy with what I was saying, you'd find a little sympathy or even empathy goes a long way! finally got into Breakfast the food was good I left breakfast and was waiting by reception for my son, she was chatting with a local, who had made an acidic comment, she said very little, and he said that's not like you to refrain from saying? she said quite clearly aiming at me, well you know what people are like, I will not and never recommend this glorified Butlins and unpleasant receptionist to anyone. Over priced for the experience.

We are a group of 16 golfers who, for the past 2 years, have stayed at Trethorne for a couple of nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. This is just a fantastic place, and I really can't find fault with anything. All of the staff are really friendly, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, the service really good and efficient. The accommodation is really good, with everything you could need but, if you need more, you just ask. The weather wasn't overly friendly this year, but the course was in very good condition, with no problems getting a buggy, which I would recommend. It's an excellent location for other courses nearby, and we used it as a base to play at 2 other courses. We like it that much, I've just emailed them to check availability for next year, if they'll have us of course!

Here for a family Birthday party.. Really nice food and pleasant staff. My only gripe is that still they have no dedicated disabled parking. This means that you either have to park a long way from the building or struggle to get out of the car in a normal space. Not ideal in any way. I'm sure the secretary or captain spaces next to the footpath could be sacrifices for this..
