I was attending a wedding in St. Louis on the Labor Day Weekend and it was hard to find a hotel room. I called Expedia and they found the "Stratford Inn" as having an available room so I booked it. This has to be and was the worst motel we have ever stayed in. Rooms were old, front desk was not a help. They had a halloween party and we were afraid for out lives. Screaming, swearing life threatining things were being said outside our door. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. more

GREATLY IMPROVED!! I was apprehensive upon reading so many negative postings, however, apparently ownership has turned things around! Not to worry if you plan to stay here. For starters, the customer service was terrible. The "desk help" did not block off our rooms as they had promised over one month ago. Then the toothless employee made a very rude comment to my friend. Complain to the manager? Useless; It's her mother. The rooms are absolutely filthy. There was a dead mouse in front of my friend's door.... more

The front desk service was always confused and could not keep our reservations straight. We were kicked out of the system several times, walked in on and our keys never worked when we returned to our rooms. People are allowed to smoke every where so what good is a non-smoking room?
