After the suggestion of friends I booked the Erlangen House in Vladimir. Owned by a German organization it is basically a hostel for German visitors. Cheaper than most hotels. I received a room with a bed and bathroom. I did not have a comfortable chair to sit in, which was an inconvience. I did not have desk and had to work on my lap top while sitting on the bed. They offer no business services such as internet. All the rooms are up a narrow staircase, and I had to haul my suitcases up the stairs. They don't have doormen. The breakfast was very basic, and you were served what the cook wanted to fix that morning. Also you ate when the cook wanted to come in. I had to make my meeting appointments after the 8:30 am breakfast time or 9 am on weekends, even though I was the only person there during the 4 days I stayed there, they would not serve me earlier.
