Tucked into a residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the plaza, Xocotla offered a relaxing retreat with close proximity to the beach & town. Immaculately clean, wonderfully decorated with Mexican arts, crafts, and tile, my Ixpan unit was well appointed with everything I needed: equipped kitchenette with everything including purified water and a cookbook (no microwave, however);... more

I echo the words of many other reviews - Sayulita is a wonderful surfing and fishing village that has managed to keep its old-world charm while integrating terrific restaurants, galleries reflecting the best of Mexico and rest of the world. Xocotla is THE perfect place in Sayulita - just up Gringo hill from town and the beach (5 minute walk)... more

It's like walking into an oasis. The colors, decor, lush vegetation and of course the pool, makes you feel imediately relaxed. It's as if stress does not exist inside this magical place. What can I say about our hosts that has not already been said, they make you feel welcome and give you a sense of belonging, as if you... more

It was four years ago when we just flipped out at the thought of another Canadian winter so we threw all caution to the wind and booked 5 weeks in a place that was not quite finished in a village we had never heard of in a country we had never visited! Three visits later we call Xocotla home. It... more

My partner and I have become addicted to Xocotla!! This charming and relaxed hidden paradise is tucked into the leafy neighbourhood known locally as "Gringo Hill". The apartments all look into the fabulous jungle garden which is dominated by an enormous fig tree, home to several iguans. Every comfort and convenience are to be found in each apartment. The owners... more

What a great place to relax, unwind and re-energize. The hosts/owners were extremely welcoming and helpful in every way to ensure our stay was hassle free. Their suggestions for activities, restaurants etc... were bang on every time. They know the place and people so well we felt we had personal guides! You simply must try Yolanda's grilled chicken! We used... more

We've been to Sayulita many times and have stayed at Xocotla the last two. The location is perfect; a short walk to the town square and the beach, but far enough up the hill to remove you from most of the noise and commotion. The site is lush and restful and the tree canopy, combined with the breeze from the... more

Xocotla surpassed all of our expectaions! We knew from the photos online that Xocotla would be beautiful... but we had no idea how truly beautiful it was! Everything was taken care of for us from the time we arrived to when we checked out. The rooms are modern and beautifully decorated with traditional Mexican colors and handicrafts. The added bous... more

I have worked in retail for over thirty years so when I vacation I demand a place that provides sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of my daily life through good service, pleasant and peaceful surroundings and a true sense of comfort. I have found such a place in Xocotla . The rooms(I am a repeat visitor so have tried... more

we checked into Xocotla on Gringo Hill the evening of Oct 17. Because of concerns about ATM's we(5 of us)had brought enough money- pesos and USD to last us a week. We each took some money with us to go for dinnerand locked the rest in lock boxes in our bungalows. We were gone for about 2 to 2.5 hrsand... more

Management response from

I am the co-owner of Xocotla. When we met with Debi and her husband after the alleged incident, we offered to escort them to the police to file a theft report. They declined. We then offered to help them open a police investigation into our much-trusted manager. They declined. We have changed the locks and the safes. We believe we...
