I was originally invited to Eden by a very long-time friend, in 2004. I agreed to go, skeptical of the name......too precious, though I didn't utter this to her. Well, the joke(of the best kind) was well and truly on me. I've been one of the "regulars" for years now, always grateful for the privilege of returning. Year after year coming back to this oasis, i'm grateful for it's many treasures and pleasures. Eden offers as much balm and stimulation as one may want, even in the same day. Pleasures of the eye, the flora lush in color, the rooms of each type inviting one's vision to rest, and then the brilliance of the water, irresistible in it's rolling blue invitation to enter. Pleasures of the touch, yes, one really can walk right in, and never feel the skin prick up, contract at the chill inevitably anticipated, yet never present. Acclaimed by another "regular" amongst our cohort, to be "liquid velvet", to miss a day in the water seems a sin. The air, always mild, with light movement, surely is atmosphere to make Heaven jealous. "El Pincho" the newest iteration of the restaurant on site, is the best yet, with consistently delicious offerings for the palate, from morning until bedtime, fully enhanced by an excellent bar, and fully attentive and courteous staff. The ear is enchanted by the varied sounds of the vast ocean arriving at the sandy shore, usually gentle, and occasionally dynamically deep and full of drama. Reading on the beach, reclining blissfully in the chair beneath the large umbrella, in the afternoon, serenaded by the sea, and caressed by sun and breezes, surely is a fine form of the sublime. The ambiance is always warm, and entirely genuine, now with new caretakers of this Paradise continuing to honor the legacy that has been created at this little cove on Mexico's southwestern coast, far, far, from the madding crowds and actions of the "civilized" world. Thank you, Jessica and Josh, for taking up the cause of cultivating this very special place on the planet. Here is true peace and contentment. Here, in fact, IS, Eden.…
