Called motel and was quoted price of 47.95 for three people. Arrived and she charged 65.00 saying that she'd quoted us the old price. Then copied all our driver's licenses saying she needed them so she could identify the bodies, apparently they have tornadoes that kill their guests and leave the paperwork behind so they can identify stray corpse guests.... more

Due to a big doings in the Joplin/Carthage Area, we had the unfortunate opportunity to be left with the choice of staying at the Best Value Hallmark INN vs the car. The cheepest thing anyone can do to maintanin a property is clean it. This hotel seemed to have forgotten that. Not only was the entire facility filthy they raised... more

:under new management' was the sign, they haven't done anything yet. Rooms were bad condition overall, especially carpet, and hanging draps in parent's room, and the cheap door jam repair. Breakfast was pretty basic, staff seemed surprised to see the need for more than 5 small tables in room. The pool was decent for the aged hotel, but for $89.00... more

General appearance should of told me to move on. I stayed anyway, the room was as clean as could be expected given the condition of the facility, except the carpet, it was the most filthy looking carpet I've ever seen, I wouldn't take my shoes off to walk on it. If my wife would have been traveling with me, we... more

We stopped for the night in Joplin on a road trip. Checked one other hotel, then Hallmark, which was a few dollars less. Checked in to a dingy, dirty, smelly room, 104. Found silverfish in the bathroom and killed them. Then we turned down the bed and found a huge spider in the bed. We went to the desk and... more

We were in Joplin at the end of June for the AA state baseball tounament. Our team lost so we left early. We got a credit on our bill before we checked out. When we got our credit card statement, this motel had recharged on the amount they had credited--meaning we payed $150 for one horrible night in a terrible... more

We checked in at 12:13 am. on July 3rd,2006 after driving all day and just after eating at Denny's,(next door). We were qouted the best price within a few dollars of the neighboring hotels and decided to check-in.The night deskperson initially offered me room 104 and before I could depart from desk he immediately took my door card back and... more

This place is beyond terrible. It is dark, dingy, dirty and stinky. Our room was so gross, if we hadn't been so tired and ready to sleep, we would have left. The floor in our room had not been vacumed from the previous guests. The bathroom vanity was filty and I had to wipe it down myself, not to mention... more
