This small European like hotel is in a wonderful location if you want to be within walking distance of lots of upscale shops and restaurants. My room was enormous - two beds, and a sofa bed. I was alone and it was larger than apartments I've lived in! I would have preferred brighter lighting - it was a bit too... more

We just returned from a four night stay at the Raphael and were delighted that we chose this hotel. We stayed in a two room suite(103) which had a spacious living room. Our room rate included a full breakfast which was as good as we have ever had with choices such as Grand Marnier french toast, steak and eggs, eggs... more

Everything was great. Location, people, room. COOKIES. Rained one evening so spent time on piano lounge - very relaxing and enjoyable. Got a great price thru Travelocity. And did I mention the cookies more

I prepaid for a two night stay at this 4 star hotel. When I arrived at 10:30PM to check-in I was told the hotel had been overbooked but they would be happy to put me up at the Marriot down the road. Raphael is a 4 star hotel a block away from the Plaza. Marriot is a 3 star hotel... more

We were very lucky to get a good deal on the Raphael on Expedia. I am very glad we did, because we had a great experience! Everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful. It was easy to find and there's plenty of parking if you don't want to use the valet service. The Country Club Plaza was literally across the... more

This is one of the finest hotels in the United States! It should be rated five diamond. From valet to room service it is first class. It's location just yards from the Country Club Plaza means no matter what your taste, jazz or clasical, two step or ballet, BBQ or haute cusine, sports or museums there is something close by for you.... more

We stayed at the Raphael for a third time. First was a wedding night (ours), romantic escape from family, and ten year anniversary with newborn son. This hotel always impresses. The plaza is an excellent location. The basic rooms are a bit small, but have been recently renovated. The rooms are very comfortable. Excellent bed linens, bed, furniture, and bathroom.... more

The Rapheal isn't your usual place. It's sort of like staying at grandma's hotel. I love this place because it is homey and small and feels real. If you want Four Seasons or Fairmont sterility don't stay here. Stay next door at the sterile huge hotel that changes ownership every year. Don't expect great sevice or stylish furnishings, but expect... more

We stayed one night December 30th. The hotel is very old so the room was not well insulated the room was cold and loud from the street noise. The next day we had breakfast in the Resturant the food was good but too expensive for what you received and the service was horrible. The coffee boy was excellent. The staff... more
