I'm originally from Kansas City. I had looked at this hotel once on a trip back home, despite the fact that almost no one around Kansas City stays here. Everyone knows what kind of reputation that place has, and to call the surrounding area "unsafe" is a gross understatement. But I was in college at the time, and money was... more

I stayed here for 8 weeks when I was in the city and the hotel was fine for price it was and the people at the desk were very friendly. The only problems I had were the air condiotionong was not working very well and there were lots of coachroaches in my room and they even were in the fridge. more

Horrible stay. I didnt feel safe walking around the neighborhood or inside the Inn. I think speaking through the bullet proof glass to the receptionist says it all. A taxi is also needed to get downtown. more

My wife and I called Hotels Saturday morning to stay in KC Saturday night. The person I spoke to assured me that it was a 3 star hotel and should be quite nice. Well, it wasn't. We didn't have to put up with all the rudeness that everyone else did because we never stopped to get out of the car.... more

I read the reviews but I remained optimistic until I actually saw the room upon my arrival to the Cherry Street Inn. There are some things that travelers need to know about the Cherry Street Inn before booking. 1. When arriving, I was presented with a physical key (not a key card). No key chain and no message on the... more

Well, what can you say? You know sometimes as a consumer, a sub-par product can become bearable when there is a little customer service. As a consumer myself, I can tell you that, although this hotel isn't exactly a resort, it would be quite satisfactory for the price you pay for the stay. But you know the old addage, "A... more

This reservation was made off of Orbitz based on the description of the property and rooms and the few photos of the nice clean lobby they showed. The description and photos are VERY misleading. Yes the lobby looks like that (it is about 10'x6' in size though)... the ROOMS have not been renovated or updated since roughly the 1980s. Yes... more

There was no air conditioning in the rooms, but the lobby was freezing. The "balcony" they advertised was nothing more than the roof with a 2 foot fence that I shared with every other person on the floor. When I told the "manager" at the front desk that it was too hot to stay there, he started screaming at me.... more
