As places to stay on Flathead Lake go, this one is mediocre. If your idea of a vacation is finding the bottom of a bottle then this is your kind of place. Yes, you can see Flathead Lake. It is right there across Highway 35. Don't let that internet site fool you. There's some fancy photography on that baby! It's... more

Islander Inn is not directly on the water. To get to the lake, you need to cross a busy highway (Montana Highway 35). There is no quiet place to sit on a lawn & read a book, mostly a dock to sit on. Nearest the water, there is a raucus bar which means not much quiet until it closes in... more

When I think of Montana, I see beautiful vistas of majestic mountains, shimmering lakes, awesome sunsets & endless skies. I feel the warmth & hospitality of the locals & their sincere desire to make you feel at home & welcome. O.K., I'm from Montana, but I REALLY felt like a tourist when I stayed at the Islander Inn in Woods... more

This place has really nice rooms and it is very clean. The view from the lawn is outstanding and it is fairly quiet. Our room was exactly as depicted online, so no disappointment there, but when it came to service, it was severely lacking. We had much the same experience as the earlier post - no one in the office,... more

We were driving to Glacier Park in a rain storm and decided to stop for the night - what a find. The rooms were so clean and the best decor in the state that we saw...and we stayed in 8 different small hotels all over. We cancelled our reservations at the hotel in the park and stayed an extra night.... more

When we arrived at the inn we were directed to the restaurant across the street by a sign on the door at the inn. We picked up our room key from the busy bartender who told us we could settle the account for the room later. Although the neon open sign was on during our entire stay, the inn's office... more

Nice hotel - rooms clean and had a nice theme. The hotel is not right in town, but is in Woods Bay - so you need to drive to get to Bigfork. There are a couple of bar / restaurants across the street with outside decks which was great. Also a brewery next door. more

Stayed at the Islander Inn in the darling unit Bali in November for a few days! It is beautifully appointed, quiet, CLEAN and close to Bigfork. Very helpful staff. Enjoyed my few days there and booked a stay this summer, too! more
