We stayed two nights at this interesting B&B. Although the breakfast was ok, I really enjoyed the unique character of the mansion. The house itself, has not been remodeled/painted or updated in any way, so you are using the same bathroom(s), sleeping the same rooms and walking on the original flooring that the original owner and his family used. Speaking... more

When you stay at a bed and breakfast you have to expect some out of the ordinary things, its not a motel after all. We have family in Butte to stay with but love the Copper King Mansion. We have never been dissapointed, its relaxing, interesting and we have had a few unexplained experiences, but that just adds to the... more

As a former Butte resident, my mom was very eager and interested in staying at the Copper King Mansion because as a kid in the 1950s she remembered going there as a little kid. So in making plans to visit family over the Fourth of July, my mom made reservations for our little traveling party of three. We had a... more

I was traveling across country to a summer job and stayed at four different bed and breakfasts along the way. This particular one had really good french toast for breakfast and the other people staying there made nice and interesting company. However, there were some weird things about the place... For one, I didn't feel like there was much privacy... more

We wanted to stay in the Butte area while traveling with our dog, and options were very limited. The Copper King Mansion was pet friendly, so we booked a room. The place is a museum as well and a free museum tour is included with the bed and breakfast. However, due to time constraints we elected to skip the tour.... more

What a unique experience to sleep in a room that is part of a museum tour!! 34 room red brick mansion built in the 1880's by copper magnate, William Andrews Clark. The current owners are restoring it (and this will take a long time for the exterior. The interior is in good shape and much of it is original) and... more

We just returned from a road trip through Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Montana. Much to our surprise the crowning event was an overnight stay in Butte, Montana the night before we returned home. The Copper King Mansion has been beautifully restored inside. Once the home to the Copper King, WIlliam Clark, much of the original interior work remains. We stayed... more

Visiting the Copper King Mansion is like going home to stay with relatives, that is, if your relatives are fanatical history buffs with endless stories to tell. The accomodations are not 21st century, but it's we weren't looking for that. We found the house and our hosts fascinating and charming. The house and furniture is history coming alive. The biggest... more

It was an interesting night. We were tired and hot and rolled into Butte looking for a motel for the night. We tried 5 motels and all were full. Who would think that Butte would have full motels all over town? The last motel suggested we try the Copper King Mansion Bed and Breakfast. We tried and took the last... more

What a great experience. We had never been to Butte; went on a whim. Saw the Copper King Mansion listing in a travel guide; the total cost of $65 for bed & breakfast for 2 was much less than cost of a cheap motel and cheap restaurant. The Mansion is incredibly interesting, with gorgeous hand carved woodwork, ceiling frescoes, and... more
