Watching the PBS TV show , I was excited to take an Amtrack train from Chicago to East Glacier Park Lodge with several friends. I called the hotel to make reservations for us next year . I had noticed several negative internet reviews and inquired about the rooms.but the clerk was defensive and not very helpful. I was still excited... more

I am not one to write a poor review but this place definately warrants one! The lawn and lobby are beautiful so when we walked into the room we were very shocked. We had booked a room with a king bed but we were given a full. When we asked staff they assured us that it was not a full... more

When you come to Glacier National Park, are you really planning to spend much time in a hotel room, especially one described as "rustic" by the operators themselves? Really? This hotel was built with gracious public spaces (the front and back lawns, the sun porch/lounge connecting the annex, the back deck, the "balconies outside the rooms," and the lobby itself.... more

Traveled with my 70 year old father and fiance. My father had no problems but we did. The lobby was something out of Disney World, so at first I thought for sure this would be a fantastic place. But when we got to the rooms, oh boy. How sad to see that they must of remodeled at some point, and... more

Staying at this stately old lodge is a pleasant trip back in time. It's rustic, well-worn and old; rooms have single pane windows, no TV or phone and can be noisy depending on the location. Nothing fancy. If you must have a modern hotel/motel experience, stay elsewhere. We enjoyed the ambience, the history of the place, keeping in mind it... more

Overpriced as I suspected, but got due to only place with TV. Only had 6 obscure channels and no sports. Stayed in Bear Lodge for about $270 per night. Room was fine but no room service 3 days. I complained to Manager and got a couple of free meals. Not much choice on East side. If I went again I... more

We stayed there one night and found the lodge to be noisy with a live auction going on; no ambience or place to relax; motel-style room with minimal comfort, tiny bath for $197.75 per night (incl. tax). Front desk staff unfriendly, discourteous to rude. One hour away from East Glacier Park entrance. We will NEVER stay at the Glacier Park... more

Wow. Where to start? This is the worst hotel experience I've ever encountered. And I've stayed at plenty of hotels including those at national parks (Yellowstone and Glacier Park). The place seems to be popular with tour groups (seniors) and we also noticed quite a few motorcycles in the parking lot. We already knew that the hotel has no elevators... more

To paraphrase a line from the movie "Forrest Gump"...the rooms in Glacier Park Lodge are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get. Now let me explain. I made a reservation for a room with a queen size bed. When we checked in we were assigned room #374 in the main lodge.. Needless to... more

We enjoyed this hotel. The lobby is very nice, and there was free entertainment the night we were there. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but not worth the $172 per night that we paid. We stayed in Glacier National Park July 17 and 18. I called the park to book accomodations on May 1 and the only rooms available... more
