The High Desert Inn feels like it might have been very nice in 1985, but hasn't kept up with time. Water stains on ceiling tiles in the lobby caught me wrong, as well as the stained underside of the bedspreads. The carpet in the room was very worn. I got the very last room here late on a Saturday night, after another hotel did not honor my reservation. Overall, the High Desert Inn was fine for a one-night stay, although I cannot endorse it as enthusiastically as previous TripAdvisor posters have done. Just returned from another wonderful trip to Elko on Casino Express....High Desert Inn deserves HIGH praise ....rooms large and clean....staff friendly and efficient....Can't beat Elko for a wonderful time ...anytime..... more
