The room was wonderful, my husband and I took our two boys with us, so we were gratefull that our room was big and clean. The staff was great and profetional. We had an awesome experience while we stay in the hotel. The Freemont Street Experience is right across the street. We did have to drive to get to the... more

Decided on Las Vegas and the last minute for our yearly vacation so we couldn't do a lot of homework for our stay like it like to do with "Trip Advisor" but our travel agent booked us into the El Cortez because she knew we like to stay near Fremont Street. What a gem of a place! Yes you could... more

I arrived in LV a day earlier than scheduled & could not get into the strip hotel I had booked (they were FULL) so I decided to go DT to see what they had. I decided upon staying at the EC (it was only for 1 night). I got a Vintage room with a Queen bed (Located above casino floor)... more

I stayed at the El Cortez for 3 nights, I had a group rate and the price was worth every penny. I had a King Tower room, I didn't have a view (well, it was of the A/C and the roof), but the room was very nice. The king bed was ok, with very soft pillows. There was a small... more

This was my first stay Downtown and I decided to book the El Cortez on the word of other TA Members who had stayed there. I had no idea what to expect. When I got to my room, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the room was big and liked the layout. I had a one bed tower room that... more

What can I say except I was hugely disappointed. I felt like such a fool for picking this hotel for my family and it was devastating when we walked into our room and reality came crashing down around me. I don't know what I was thinking. Unfortunately a big factor probably was TripAdvisor's 4/5 rating and all these people saying... more

After reading reviews and checking prices we ended up booking the 'Cortez for our last night in Vegas for a chance to hang around Freemont. We were cautious when we got there but were told we were upgraded to a non-smoking room (as we read to request) and ended up with an awesome room! Our room was up a flight... more

I booked two nights at the El Cortez via Vegas.com for a total of $42! Yes! A total of $42 for two nights including the tax and booking fee. They had a special on Vegas.com of buy one night get one free and a free coupon book. The coupon book was pretty good, free drink, $5 off meal at the... more

This was the second time I stayed at El Cortez. The name, in Spanish, means "the courteous one", or "the courteous man". I felt it lived up to that moniker. The staff was beyond lovely. They actually recognized my mom and me from the year before. Not by name. but perhaps by the fact that we're a travelling mother/daughter act.... more

Myself, my sister and neice had booked to stay here from 6th November, we had read most of the reviews which all seemed favourable, so we took the chance. I have to be honest and say first impressions where not good, old and tatty came to mind. When we got to our room we were very concerned we had booked... more
