Made the decision to stay here based on user pics and reviews from Trip Advisor, and we were happy we went. So, yeah... it's not the Palms, but we felt very welcomed by the staff, and you gotta stay 'classic Vegas' at least once in your life. Very friendly security staff, front desk, you name it. Also, we had a... more

We received an automatic upgrade to a nicer room upon our arrival at the hotel. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent and treated us as old friends. The Cafe has excellent food at a bargain price and the service was very good. We will definitely stay there again. (we go to Vegas 2-3 times a... more

Beside the location (far from the strips) and service (waited 3 hours for my room), everything is good. The room is huge and clean. Parking is free. Their casino is kind of crappy but i am not gambling anyway. For $10 dollar a night, it worth everything penny. more

My wife and I have stayed at the El Cortez many times over the last few years. This was our 3rd trip there this year. We had a tower room. Rooms are large, King bed. Standard TV, Desk 2 chairs and a love seat. Rooms are clean and housekeeping does a good job. We did not eat at Flame this... more

This 'boutique' hotel is run by security guards...this was the most horrific hotel stay in my hundreds and hundreds of stays (obviously elsewhere). The hotel is run by security guards who will NOT let you in at 3 in the morning into the lobby mind you - when your key doesn't work for front door. If there is anything you... more

I stayed at the El Cortez in Downtown Las Vegas Sept 2-8 and was very pleased. I booked a non-smoking, king in the tower. I was in room 801. Likes: 1. Forget Limos and Taxis. Catch the city bus at the airport. It will take you right past the rear of El Cortez on Ogden Road. Just bring your luggage... more

I was searching for an inexpensive hotel to check-in to as we reached Vegas quite late at night. The El Cortez was a great intermediary hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was nice enough. more

We stayed here in March 2009. The price was reasonable and the location was convenient to get to Freemont Street. The downtown area has cleaned up significantly over the past few years. I did not feel unsafe at this hotel or walking from here to Freemont Street. The room itself was dated but large and clean. The bathroom was tiny... more
