This was my third stay at Saddle West while taking a Front Sight Defensive handgun class. I got a room in the 120 series building E which is in desperate need of a major overhaul. After this stay I will be staying at the Pahrump Station (Best Western) they have Front Sight Discounts also.

For years, attending a class at Front Sight meant a stay at the Saddle West. 60's/70's setting, but clean and comfortable. Room had a coffee maker, soap and shampoo, hair dryer, iron, TV, and plenty of towels. Meals were a bargain, but cigarette smoke from the casino was noticeable in the restaurant. Like having a "no peeing section in a swimming pool".Price and convenience overshadowed the negatives.

No microwave. No iron. No hair blow dryer. No mini fridge. Nothing to make an extended stay nicer. We were able to have our small dog. It was clean but outdated. I would stay there ONLY if there is no other choice. The buffet was ok. It had many choices and was not overly expensive.

LOVED the deal's you get here, free breakfast buffet, discount for being a Front Site Student, and friendly and courteous staff. When we are out this was again we will stay at Saddle West Hotel again.

The location, Pahrump, was only chosen because the name tickled us. Also, when we looked on the web site, only three sites came up and we both thought we were going to be in a one-horse town. We stayed for one night in January 2013. The carpet was absolutely filthy. It turned your socks dark brown from walking on the carpet. Overall this is a very dated motel style property.
