If it hadn't been for the bellman who told us that the switch for the large lamp was behind the couch, who would know? The rooms are dark, but you're only there to sleep. The bed was comfy with ample pillows, but the a/c was very noisy. We had a room in the Summit section, the bath was very nice,... more

We stayed in a room at the Summit. 24th floor. separate elevators and ck-in for clients As stated before, the hotel is dark. However the rooms are nice.Big bathroom with tv. Room can be separated by a curtain. Very comfortable king bed in one portion, sectional sofa in the other area that was very comfortable. Big HD tv in the... more

We got this room for $20 a night thru Booking.Com. The room is awesome! Dark interior decor, very nice. A little on the dim side though. 42" flat screen tv and another smaller tv in the bathroom. A very nice, comfy king sized bed. There's a padded bench and a couch. A computer desk with a reading lamp and padded,... more

even though i was upgraded to a suite (apparently no non-smoking kings) i felt like i'd been upgraded back to a 1970s disco. the room was almost funny it was so outdated. and why put in a kitchen if you stock it with nothing? not a dish or a spoon. it's really quite an ugly place overall, my room included.... more

We stayed on the 19th floor and the views were spectacular! The room was huge and very luxurious big bed, big screen tv, big marble bathroom just big everything really. This was one hotel you could actually just stay in the room and be quite happy which is something we never do! There is a 50 lane bowling alley here... more

My wife and myself stayed at the GSR for our 8th anniversary. When we arrived the check in line was almost all the to the front doors. There were only two staff members checking people in at first so out wait to check in was about 45 minutes. The rooms were good size and clean. Our room was a non... more

This hotel was site of a conference I attended with my spouse. We got a superb rate on a Summit room and from what I heard from other attendees, was worth the extra $20/nt. Restaurants were good here, and my wife had a spa treatment which she said was good and worthwhile. Room itself was large, as was bathroom --... more

I stayed at The Summit for two nights-April 11-April 13 '09. Check-In- Easy. The receptionist confirmed that we had booked through Expedia and that we were all paid for. No problems there. There was an unexpected deposit required at check-in: $100 for the resort fee ($5 per day) and other incidentals. Since I didn't want this charged to my debit... more

We received an internet offer from the Grand Sierra in Reno, book one night ($39) and receive the second night free including 2 breakfast buffets. We had the option to upgrade to the Summit Suites for $69 for both nights. As we had not stayed there in several years we decided to go for a midweek trip. We checked in... more

The Grand Sierra was the location for an annual conference I attend. While getting to Reno is not the easiest from many cities in the US, once there it serves the purpose well. A free shuttle runs from the very close by Reno airport. Many in the group spent a day at Tahoe skiing while others hung out at the... more
