This is my first trip to Reno so I will base this review on that detail........I was not impressed in the least with the whole Grand Sierra experience. As my father would have said,".....sure is laid out pretty, wonder how long it's been dead?" I travel quite a bit for business and I have to say this is the most... more

We went to Reno and stayed at the Summit at the Grand Sierra in July 2009 for 3 nights. A dear family friend was having a small wedding there(in the casino chapel) so there was a group of about 25-30 of us staying at the hotel. We really had no idea what to expect as neither my husband or myself... more

The Summit is the upper floors at the Grand Sierra, a huge casino with a 50 lane bowling alley, movie theater, pool, arcade, restaurants, golf driving range, and more. If you need a place to be amused, this is it. Plus you'll walk off the extra calories you eat just getting back to your room. Rooms (and hallways) are dark... more

I can't review the room we booked, but can review the room we were upgraded to! We had their biggest suite - over 900 square feet, 5 flat screen tvs, three bathrooms and a WONDERFUL jacuzzi. I say book a room here (we booked with the Summit for a normal suite originally) just on the off chance you get the... more

We stayed st the Summit for two nights on a recent trip in july. Parking was not a problem and check in was easy enough. The room had a good view over Reno. It was clean although it did smell of smoke. You pay for internet which I think should be free at a place like this. The staff at... more

This is a very tired, old Casino Resort Hotel, however it’s the best one in Reno I could find. Some rooms are very nice on the upper floors but some rooms I looked at are very dated. The entire resort has a feel that the poor economy has hit this hotel very severely and that owners have cut back on... more

My daughter and I flew to Reno before going on a rafting trip and we stayed at The Summit at the Grand Sierra because we wanted to drive through Northern California and view the scenery on our way to Oregon. I was actually reluctant to stay in Reno because of it's reputation and we were concerned that we would not... more

This was a last minute change in a well planned out trip. Pet friendly - plus (comes with a fee though) nasty, outdated, moldy bathroom - HUGE minus smoke-free room that stunk horribly of smoke - another minus buffet breakfast - great food, plus cafe dinner - amazing waiter and great food, plus pool - looked amazing from our room,... more

Make sure to book the Summit at Grand Sierra Resort. The previous reviews must have been written prior to the hotel's complete and total renovation. The rooms at the Summit were spectacular in every way! More like a studio condo, the chocolate brown and espresso wood decor was top-knotch. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and 2 flat panel TVs were... more
