The setting of the Mount Washington Hotel (and Resort) is nothing short of jaw-dropping. A grand white hotel with a red roof and flags flapping from the turrets, it sits like a fairy-tale castle at the foot of Mount Washington in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire. There are several lodging options at the Mount Washington, including the hotel itself, a motor lodge across the road (overlooking the aforesaid view), condos spread around the golf course and Bretton Woods downhill ski area, and the Bretton Arms Country Inn, tucked into the woods near the hotel itself.
My husband and I have stayed at the Bretton Arms several times, to include the weekend of our wedding 6 years ago (we were married in the hotel). We enjoy celebrating anniversaries there, as well as visits to hike local trails and later in the winter for cross-country skiing at the Nordic Center.
