Stayed here in June 08 for 1 night only. When we arrived, there was construction going on, so we had to use the side entrance and not the grand entrance. I think if we had used the grand entrance, we would've had the WOW feeling, but not with the side entrance. Lugged our luggage for what seemed to be forever... more

We held a wedding at this hotel in early June. I am still in awe at how professional literally every staff member I encountered was - from the bell boy, front desk, waiters, to the sales manager. The location is simply stunning - it offers the most stunning view of the presidential range of the White Mountains. The hotel has... more

I stayed at the Mount Washington Hotel back in August of last year, and overall I must say it was a great experience! The hotel is beautiful and unlike anything you'll see anywhere else, not to mention the stunning scenery and mountains in the background. As you enter into the great hall area of the hotel, you immediately feel like... more

My husband and I wanted a somewhat local honeymoon. Of all the places in New Hampshire, we asked to go to the Mount Washington Resort. My in-laws pre-paid for the honeymoon and specifically asked that we DID NOT pay for anything, the hotel was to bill them for anything we needed. Our package was supposed to include dining each night... more

A lot of contruction going on...we reserved 2 days. Half way through the 2nd day (we were exibiting at a conference) the hotel staff approached us and told us we had to leave!! because they had a big wedding coming in??? and "they wanted our room." We were co-hosting the evening dinner for 200 attendees....we said our regrets, packed-up and... more

We stayed at this hotel for three nights over Easter weekend. The setting is beautiful and the views of the mountains are spectacular. However, those expecting 4-5 star quality in keeping with the hotel's pricey cost may be disappointed by inconsistent service and amenities. 1) Family suite: we booked a "family suite" which was described to me as two rooms,... more

My family recently stayed at the Mt. Washington Resort for six days. We chose it because we wanted easy access skiing, but mostly I wanted my children to see what a classic old-fashioned grand hotel experience was like before they have all disappeared. I was floored by the experience. The building itself is beyond fascinating- a gorgeous relic from another... more

Excellent but watch out for the rooms on the east side - facing Mount Washington, at least during weekdays. The hotel is expanding with a conference center and spa, and heavy construction activities start at 7:00 am, which can be annoying. more

We spent Thanksgiving at the Mt Washington hotel and loved it. This is not a hotel for those who are expecting either a chain-hotel experience OR the "top rated Vegas-like" hotel experience. I laughed when I saw comments here about no coffee pots in the rooms. (I suspect they are fire hazards in such an old place.) This is an... more

Upon our arrival, we were graced with beautiful clear blue skies. The mountains were amazing. The Mt. Washington property is absolutely gorgeous. However the staff is somewhat indifferent. Three different women we encountered at the front desk were not very welcoming and quite arrogant. One woman even rolled her eyes at me. They were also inconsistent with their information. When... more
