We adored staying at the Eagle Mountain House with its sense of slightly faded grandeur; fabulous location; lovely old fashioned bathrooms and wonderful breakfast buffet.. Though the hotel is well situated for visiting the White Mountains, I would definitely discourage anyone going here. Our room was built litterally around the elevator, next to the stairs, and the view (from the back) was on rotten wood side panels and damaged roofing.
