Our second trip to Purity Spring Resort -- many grandparent-aged guests have been coming since they were kids! (see my earlier review for more details) The beauty of the lake and its wildlife, especially the loon family that once again hatched its chick here, sets a calming tone. Food and accomodations were lovely in a generally simple way. Service in... more

When checking out, they ask everyone what was left for a tip at your meals and in your room. I thought it was odd - they explained it was for their "bookeeping", but were very concerned that the tip we left had not been reported. After checking out, I said I had to go back to my room to retrieve... more

This is basically a roadside motel. Although the rooms are clean, they are small and date back to the seventies..... or sixties, and that includes the mattresses. You're sort of stuck with their meal plan because it is a 15 minute drive into North Conway. And the food isn't all that great, buffet style. Inquire about BYOB, it changes certain... more

We chose Purity Spring because of the wide variety of winter sports included with lodging (the ones we did included downhill skiing, cross country ski-skating, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and tubing). Plenty to do and I'm sure you couldn't be bored here. We especially enjoyed snowshoeing up to Bald Ledge. Also, the resort received a foot of snow the day we... more

Just returned from spending a couple of nights at Purity Spring. We rented a condo that slept eight. It was actually a house. There were two bedrooms each with a queen bed and a third bedroom with four twins. Plenty of room for everybody. Our only complaints were that the mattresses were hard and so was the toilet paper!! :)... more

It isn't summer unless our family stays at Purity, which we have for 17 years. We have visited both summer and winter. The Hoyt family members are everywhere, making the waterskiing, canoe trips, hiking trips, lobster feast, early morning campfire breakfast, climbing wall, theatre trips, impromptu beach talent shows pleasurable for the young and old, inexperienced and experienced. You do... more

We have been going to PSR since our children were 1,2 and 3, the youngest is almost 20! We have been in the summer and in the winter and it has always been the best. We have been with the entire family, for a familly reunion (over 40 people) and this summer by ourselves......either way, it is the best. Friendly,... more

Purity Spring is so much fun I'm reluctant to spread the word. This is a family-style resort - not luxurious but very clean and comfortable. The food (included during most seasons) is delicious but not haute cuisine. I've vacationed with my family for about 8 years at Purity and we've visited in every season. There is so much to do... more
