Dinner at the inn is worth making reservations to ensure you are seated near the fireplace. Ask for Alan as your waiter. The food is fabulous and the service is even better. Share a bottle of wine with dinner and finish the night off with a flaming drink such as the "French Connection..." We will be back for dinner. The... more

We were a party of two couples and booked large corner rooms with queen beds and private baths. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Since we were on the go, the absence of televisions suited us fine. The Inn has an outdoor pool but no jacuzzi's. Not a big deal to us. The 200 years+ old Inn is absolutely... more

We ate here one night and found it to be overpriced and mediocre. The service was sort of clownish and was slow and out of sync. We got a bread basket of dry rolls after our salad course. Coffee arrived once we were almost done with dessert. My steak was overcooked and tough. It was supposed to be encrusted with... more

My teenaged daughter and I stayed at The 1785 Inn for one night in August 2007 on our annual school shopping trip to North Conway. We stayed in Room 14. We were charmed by the Inn's many original fixtures and thought that the woman who checked us in and served our breakfast the next day was just wonderful - attentive... more

We stayed 3 nights. The breakfasts and dinners were superb. The rooms were comfortable -- not all the amenities of a modern hotel -- but we actually liked the quaintness. Perhaps they have remodelled because we found it in good repair, especially for such an old, historic building. more

I stayed here for two nights in Feb 2007. I was in one of the rooms with a shared bath, traveling on my own. The stay was okay for what it was, I needed a clean place to spend a couple of nights knowing that I will not be in the room during the day at all. Got a discount... more

Dropping $100 for dinner for 2 is not too bad in Boston, but after hearing rave reviews about the 1785 Inn Restaurant in North Conway my wife and I tried it. I would have been better off at Burger King and spent the other $90 at the outlets! Bad Service, Small Portions, and soot from the fire made our evening... more

The 1785 Inn is not set up for small children and all the rooms are not fully decorated and do not have air conditioning. When I booked the room I told the staff I had a wife and 13 month old child and would need a crib for the child. I was told they had a crib in the room....not... more

We stayed at the 1785 Inn for two nights in March of 2005. Cons: We booked a "large private room with a view." The room did have the view, but not much else. It was certainly not large. The bed was so hard, we dreaded going to sleep the second night. The carpeting was worn, the wallpaper and window paint... more

We recently stayed at this hotel, and for $200/night (with a 2 night minimum!) it was absolutely NOT worth the money. The room was in ill repair, the door barely locked and the shower is pitiful! The water was either scalding hot or freezing cold and it barely came out of the shower head. The room was noisy and had... more
